Oil Warning Light & noisy...

check the pressure sensor, if its cheap enough just replace it. could actually be a mechanical issue like the oil pump slowly going out, but still making barely enough pressure to keep the engine working. it obviously has to work harder when oil is cold, so maybe thats the problem. try the cheap stuff first, then look into replacing the pump or cleaning the screen.

Oil Warning Light & noisy...
Published (2009-12-21 10:51:00)
Well I just found out the previous owner (I only bought it a week ago) changed the oil sending unit and it stopped for a bit, but started again. So I don't think it's the sensor because that wouldn't effect the light if the sensor was bad. I've heard that the pumps almost never go bad, and that it's more likely a clogged screen, I'll look at that next. Anyone know if there's a good way to clean the screen...

1.6L Vtec 94 ex

It's around 1500 rpm, and when we tested it the clutch was out, so it was definitely an engine noise. It is extremely faint but it sounds like just a little tapping sound. You have to be right at 1500 rpm for it to happen. It doesn't happen anywhere else.

Having problems getting civic...
Published (2009-12-18 04:59:00)
It was doing it even after the car was warm and i even parked it in my heated garage for about 4 hrs and it was still doing it. But for some reason last night i drove it and all of the sudden it was back to normal. I probably should change the fluid in the transmission since i do have 200,000 miles on the car.

are you leaking fuel anywhere? i dont think there is any gas related hardware inside the car other than fuel pump under the rear seat cushion which should be sealed.

D16Z6 is the best sohc motor that will bolt in, and you can build it to 250+hp. if youre looking for dohc theres alot of choices. b18a1, b16a1, and ofcourse b18c1 from the GSR which is the highest hp motor stock.

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and cars in general, but I have some knowledge and I have a question. I am looking at buying a 94 civic ex w/146000 miles. Everything works fine, but there is a transmission noise. It is a 5spd, and my stepdad and I have determined it is the input shaft bearing since it makes the noise with the clutch engaged(foot off pedal). My question is how long...
