This lantana hadn't bloomed for me before. A piece had broken off from the bush above so I stuck it in the wall planter near my "just started" container gardens and it is blooming as well. That wall planter doesn't get much light, I have some Mexican petunias in it. I usually just stick whatever breaks off another plant in this wall planter and if it takes, I move it to another ...

This is where we stayed in Tuscany. The villa was on a lake. Very remote. The ducks even had their own duck houses (under the willow tree on the lake- if you squint maybe you can see them). The last picture is when I came back to Kuwait-a dust storm. We went from cool, fall weather in Italy back to heat and dust in Kuwait.

Found this guy on the side of my garage, waiting for the sun to heat him up! While I was out working in the yard, the crows set up quite a racket. I figured they had found an owl and were after him. They can't stand owls being in their territory. Pretty soon they came over right above me. They were chasing a Redtailed Hawk. The hawk landed in a tree and I ran for my camera...

We took a ride to look at the beautiful fall colors. It was a beautiful fall day...the fall colors are so beautiful right now. This one was taken as the car was moving...the road was too busy to stop. This is from our old neighbor hood...the area is so beautiful...I really miss the older big trees... This...

Several years ago I posted a pic of my sugarmaple that is in the back yard. The fall color of it was just beautiful. It even made the pic of the month that time. Ever since the color has not been as good, until this year.

This garden is just outside of the Leaning Tower. It made me miss my walled gardens back in Kuwait.Of course, I do not have lawn but it did inspire me to add some new plants. I learned recently that the word paradise comes from the Arabic for "walled garden". I guess I have my own paradise!

The birds found the new bird feeder late on Thurs. and they are out there im mass this morning. The chickadees were the first to find it. Then came the Blue Creepers. And they go through all kinds of antics to get the seeds!

The Grampa Ott Morning Glories are blooming more prolifically than they ever did early in this growing season. This is really a very deep purple color. About 3 years ago I filled a large planter box with a packet of assorted wildflower seeds and the Cosmos have been coming back every year...in the planter, in the mulch on the ground next to the planter, in other planters and ...

The wall is completed. The pavers are laid for the patio at the basement door. The pavers have to be tamped down yet, and sand swept into them. Also there will be a coarse 1 high that will be a flower bed. It will run from the basement wall on the left hand side of the patio. It will come out to the end of the wall and then join the wall. One more day and they ...

I have a branch of a rose of sharon that I broke off the main plant about a month ago. I just stuck it in a pot of potting soil on my deck and it is only a foot tall and has 2 beautiful blooms and a lot of buds on it. It also has bunches of roots. Before I stuck it in the pot I removes all the flowers and buds and every other leaf. Now its going nuts. Cathy

The workers are done, and have left, after I paid them! Here is what the finished product looks like. The garden area ties the wall and the patio together really well.
