Now how did that happen? It should have been in the following order... AOL's Thanksgiving gremlins. Just to shake things up a bit, Diane. :-) Linda ~Lv2Cook~ You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients. Julia Child (1912-2004)

Please remember to be nice to the person behind the counter!! I'll be at work at 4:45 for a 5AM opening in the Housewares department. Fortunately I get to leave at 11, unlike most people, but I am still going to be very tired. I'll be taking a hot bath in about 20 minutes to get me tired enough to go sleep afterwards. Not much sleep---getting up before 4AM. Henry is driving me and picking me up so I don't have to worry about...

Good Afternoon! It's been a busy, productive day. Almost done with my food prep, I just have to slice the cheeses for the appetizer platter. Dh deep cleaned the bathrooms, so tomorrow should be easy. I even got the turkey out of his wrapper and rinsed him and got him in his roasting pan. Dinner tonight will be the polar opposite of T-Day dinner: hot dogs and mac &...

No shame from me, Diane :0) When I start baking I go through more than I can imagine, so I agree with your dh...butter freezes...buy more! :0) I need a 12-step group for hoarding food I'm sure, but rarely am I "out" of something when I want to try a recipe... Carol my grandmother used to put whiskey over her fruitcakes. Maybe do a search for Jack Daniels I dont think bourben would be any different in a cake than whiskey. Cheryl We adapt to change or we get left behind.

I was feeling a little blue and missing the kids and my family. I decided to heck with that and made 3 perfect deviled eggs and opened a bottle of bubbly and enjoyed my relaxed morning and reminded my self different does not mean bad. Mary, that is so true, and something I've been thinking about too. It was a nice day here, but I found myself fighting that tinge of melancholy, ...

Ziti sounds good, Pete. We had leftovers and spinach dip. The girls and I decided that we have lots of time to make and eat all the different things we want for Thanksgiving, so today I made the Vanilla Glazed Sweet Potatoes and some Knorr Spinach dip (the kind with chopped water chesnuts). We are having a low-key night after a goofy day. I didn't sleep much last night and I'm just tired....

Linda Ever tried putting blueberries in your banana bread? I love it..better than blueberry muffins even to me. I have done it with and without nuts..Just take a cup of blueberries (frozen or fresh) if frozen.>I just run them under water for a minute ..then dust with flour so they dont sink..and add to your regular banana bread recipe.. Thought it might help you use your new found ...

Patti, I take Mobic (actual the generic of it, meloxicam) which is an anti-inflammatory that brings down the pain by lessening the inflamation if arthritis is why you're getting some of those aches. It's very cheap-I get 90 pills for $9.99. I can't take prescription pain killers unless I've just had surgery or I'm about to go to bed. They make me feel whacky!...

Your whole menu sounds wonderful, Caroline. I've tried the cranberry chevre log from Trader Joe's, and it is good. I bought their two cranberry sauces yesterday, both very good. One is with orange and bit sweeter, and the other tarter. Dh will only have the canned jellied kind with the lines, and none of us care for that. Let us know how the pie is. Amanda, you do more while injured and in pain, than I do healthy! Kudos on the paper towels. I am trying to cut down, but I haven't come close to eliminating them. My d-i-l is an absolute fanatic about cleanliness and refuses to use dishcloths, even for cleaning. She goes through almost a roll a day. @@ Of course, if she did use cloths she would use at least one a day, so it would ...

Nancy, you have such a full day planned. I love reading all about it. My day has started out in the office, but I just got an email from my new boss! We are leaving at noon today instead of the vague 2 - 3 pm my old boss said! She is such an ass! :) So out the door at 12 for me. From there I am heading to the fish market. Joe is cooking half the dinner tonight - that's code for ...
