Lost another friend this week
Published (2009-12-10 23:28:00)
I don't know what to say. That's so difficult. I have a relative who is an alcoholic, and it ruin my childhood and it still affects me. Alcoholism really destroys the person, so they can't seem to make the choice between family and life, and the drink. In sober moments, I'm sure they aren't choosing to die or to hurt their families, but yet that's what happens when they drink. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I work out on a daily basis with weights but also run every morning and sometimes at the gym too. Its a hard thing for me to keep up with work, wife and kids, and hobbies. I do substitute a day of running for surfing many times a week. But not everyone can do that (I'm required to keep my shape up for the Army and for SWMBO (cause she is SOO much hotter than me)) so I would always tell people if they can't get to the gym find a hobby...

I got the black out cloth at a local fabric store for $6 a yard so it cost me about $20. Some is sold as drapery lining but doesn't have the rubberized/vinyl coating. That coating not only increases the gain a bit but also blocks light from going through and bouncing back off the wall. Horrible for contrast if that happens. The projector is the Sanyo Z2000 and I rode the Sanyo models pretty much all the way up. Z1, Z3, now Z2000 each time...

Sounds like there's a problem with your headphone jack in the iPod. Have you tried blowing some compressed air in there, or even dabbing the inside with a small q-tip soaked in alcohol? I don't know how much those cost, but repairs to iPods are never as bad as you think they'll be. That's assuming you can even replace just the jack without replacing the whole logic board. If it's old enough, ...

Well, you can't go wrong if you were to stay downtown. I hear good things about the Ace Hotel and The Nines, but I've not been to either (since I live here, you know!). If you're downtown, you'll be able to easily visit the Deschutes, Full Sail, Rogue, and Bridgeport brewpubs. The Widmer Gasthaus is just a quick Max ride away (our version of the El) on the other side of the river from downtown...

South Park has the right idea. You can go to southparkstudios.com and watch ANY South Park episode save for the very newest, and there's just a few commercials in there...no big deal, really. Don't have to download it illegally or anything to watch on your computer. Several smaller artists (and some big names) have done similar things too. I've gotten a few albums off torrents that were ...
