New Electric Keggle Help - Page 3

Yep, I would never use ground as my neutral and never have. I have been doing 110v wiring since I was pretty young, but never really delved into 220v... It might be better to run the 120V pumps in the future on separate lines so I don't have to run say a 40 or 50amp line... That electrical article really cleared up 220v for me... I really thought you needed a neutral for completing the circuit... learn something every day... So, I think...

Don't let Iodophor solution...

Before you swap the line out try running some hot cleaner through it. Let it sit in the line for for a few minutes and then flush it out with clean water. Let some plain water sit in the lines after that for an hour or so and then pour a glass and smell it. Get another person to smell it and ask them what they smell. Don't prompt them with "Does this smell like iodine?"

Only reason I could see is the price $385 ouch! for 30-50 bucks you could
build yourself a nice one out of a cooler.

Bronze? Really? I didn't know they had that. From the little I know I think
SS is the best so I'd go with anything that had the most SS.

Have you tried adding the grain to the hopper after the mill was turned on?
Could be that the motor is starting to give out when the strain is on it.

I wondered the same thing, but decided to just spend the $4 on a 5 gallon
bucket at Wal-Mart. you can find them in the paint dept. I'm sure Lowes or
Home Depot will have the same.

For those of you using 240 volts in your system...
The hot element runs from the two hot phases and everything needs to be grounded of course, but what do you do with the neutral that is left from a four- prong plug? Do you simply cap off the wire?

Did you account for thermal expansion on your volumes? Wort/water expands as you heat it.

I use the dishwasher with cheapo powdered detergent that contains NO rinse aid. I never have problems with head, lacing or flavour. The important part is no rinse aid in the dishwasher EVER. The detergent seems to rinse clean and cause no problems. I know it's taboo, but if it ain't broke, why change it?

I bought about 3 feet of 1 3/4 inch outer diameter tube that fits pretty snug in the bottle. I then tape it up so make it air tight. So far it hasn't cause any problems for me.

Why not go for a larger valve so that you have more adjustability? 1/4 is a
bit restrictive. If you want to slow the flow you can always turn down a
larger valve.

Three of those bad boys would make one hell of an industrial strength brewery. All you would need is your imagination and $1200 plus shipping.
