Denon 4308 or Integra DTR 8.9
Published (2008-11-20 19:42:00)
From being an Integra owner I can tell you that it is a cut above the rest. Hand selected components, massive torridial transformer and the list goes on. Not saying anything bad about the Denon but it isn't in the same class as the Integra. The DTR8.8 just got a glowing review in one of the A/V magazines and was compared to other receivers costing 2x as much. I say, go Integra, I did and am glad.

S-Video Help Needed
Published (2008-11-20 07:50:00)
I recently purchased a Samsung LN52A850 (as some of you that read this will probably already know as you have helped with the set-up). Yesterday, I tried to hook up the S-Video output on my Sony Viao laptop to the S-Video input of the TV - Nothing. I tried to get into that port to see if I could configure it or anything and it stated it had no signal. I was using a good S-Video cable, I've used the S-Video output on my computer before so...

Well this morning i took the speaker out and placed it on the tv stand, and while the diffrence was not earth shattering for me, it was deffinaly there, and more than just a minor change, but better indeed. I still have it a few decibles louder than the original Audyssey setup, but at some poiunt this week i am going to run the setup again and see if it changes any. The only issue i see right now is that with my new tv the speaker is going to...

Just getting back in to check up and advise, I took back the receiver and upgraded, if you will, to the Yamaha RX-V463. I am now getting what I had hoped for. I did notice in your footer, of the equipment you list that you own, owned, tested, etc. Yamaha isn't listed. Let just say, don't spoil it for me, at least not yet. I'll just hope you've just never had the pleasure.

HDMI to COAX for HD to other TVs
Published (2008-11-20 13:08:00)
None that I know of. They do make a device that will allow SD to other TVs and via a SD modulator you could send the signal over coax. See: Hooking Up A VCR To A HD Receiver HD modulators have copy protection issues that prevent any being available.

Hi all, i'm thinking of purchasing either the Denon 4308 or Integra DTR 8.9 on Boxing day and i sure could use some of your insight on this purchase. These models are being sold at different locations and i'm concerned that i'll get a salesmans bias towards their own product so i appreciate anything you might have to offer, thanks and have a great weekend.

Hi people! I have a problem and I hoped you guys could help me solve it . I recently bought a LaCie LaCinema media hard drive (don't know if it is being sold in the US....I live in the Netherlands). It has a component cable and the box says it can show data with 1080i. However it doesn't support any HD files on the web. I download series from the US (like CSI Miami and Two and A Half Men) but ...

Does ANYONE have the Motorola 3416 box and NOT have a fully functioning DVR? Can the DVR function be turned off? The reason that I ask is that from the day I picked up the box and plugged it in it has operated as fully functional DVR. However I have not ever ordered DVR nor am I being billed for it. Could it be that the particular box and DVR are inseparable or have I just been lucky?
