Time Warner - HDMI Shaky Picture
Published (2009-11-09 07:40:00)
Many cable companies do not support using the HDMI connection as there are too many HDCP handshake issues. Since component gives you just as high quality HD picture as HDMI, it is advised to use that.

The reason for your On Demand is that when someone orders a On Demand program, it sends the program down a lower freq and tells your box whixch freq to to view it on. Since it is a lower digital freq any tv that is doing a full digital scan at that time can pick these up since they are not encrypted.

Hey Mark, I'm sort of in the same boat as you. Here in southern NJ we have Comcast as well, and we have experienced quite a few changes in our "Basic" cable too. When we first got our HDTV about 3 years ago, we got not only some HD channels, but also some On Demand feeds (I think) that others in the neighborhood were controlling. These were always on different channels, and would come and go, but sometimes they paused,...

Time Warner - HDMI Shaky Picture

Does it shake when using another HDMI port on the TV? Does it shake when connecting another peice of equipment via HDMI? Like a DVD. It's most likely not the cable itself. It's either the cable box or the HDMI input.

CBS HD Football blocky?

Welcome to High Def Forum. This area is for cable. There is an ATT Uverse area of the web site. There is also an area for high definition programming and shows. That area could help you find out if others are having trouble with CBS. Try posting in one only of these areas of the web site. You will get a reply much more quickly. PS I have not had trouble with CBS, they are very reliable.

Interesting question. It depends on how Comcast is authorizing its cards. It should continue to descramble as normal, since it is, in essence, still being paid. You should have no problems.

Welcome to High Def Forum.
Your mother in law should get some digital cable from hooking the cable to her TV. She will need to scan for channels to get digital.
I did this with a friend, and he gets more channels than he pays for.

Just make sure you call Comcast and let them know your new address. It should work fine.

I have no idea why you are not getting sound.
There will be duplicate analog, and digital channels. Just live with it. Use the digital channels for best picture quality. The digital channels are the ones with decimals.
