Make sure the BD player is not turned on until the TV is on and changed to the correct input the BD player is connected to and THEN turn on the BD player. If that works then it was a handshake issue between the two devices. Possibly a firmware update to the BD player may resolve this conflict.

I don't see the ABT2010 being dumped, how to turn an Oppo BDP-83 into something less...? I think Oppo is targeting the consumer with a BD player that is simple and less sophisticated than the BDP-83, SACD and DVD-A will be gone. This eliminates many setup features, I believe there will be an HDMI output, optical and coaxial digital outputs with maybe a stereo output. I guess we will see if my prediction holds true, Merry Christmas...

I would say the PS3 is the best Home Media Machine on the market that does a very good job with bly-ray discs. The best BD player out there? Nah, I dont think so. Not anymore. But, if you game and/or use the PS3 for other things then by all means get one. They are great machines. But, I would NO longer recommend one strictly as a blu-ray player.
