I fell for the Amazon price...without having seen this BD presentation prior. I think it'll be a long while before it sees a re-release so I just jumped in.

I'm wondering if they will package the entire 2009 "season of specials" together, to complement the previous season sets. If they do, they'd have to uprez last year's holiday special, which was the last SD-only episode.
These two episodes are also the last featuring David Tennant playing The Doctor; I'm sorry to see him go.

The Elephant Man would be an instant purchase and I also have always wanted to see Lady Killers so I'll probably rent the BD.

I wouldnt say garbage, but not nearly as cool as I was hoping.
I'm renting it to watch for the 2nd time, so definately worth the first watch. Pretty sure I wont be buying it on BD.

Awesome.
As much as I like Neveldine/Taylor, I ended up missing it in the theaters. Yay for quick Blu-ray turnaround.

that's awesome and all, but still a damn ripoff given the running time. I'd love to pick this up for my wife but she has literally forbade me from getting it for her given the pasking price.
not sure how to interpret the comments regarding damage to the print and a "flat," sounding soundtrack accompanied with a reccomend, though. Will probably pick this up once price slips but in no hurry...

I'm not a pq buff by any means either, but from what I've read, the film lacks detail. Closeup shots which should show a lot of detail and texture instead look waxy and smoothed over. The long shots apparently lack a lot of detail as well. Apparently the deleted scenes look much more promising in 1080p and outshine the actual scenes within the film, giving a glimpse of what could've been.

Shame the extra character (Violet) was cut from the film. The Trailer shows some of her scenes.

This probably means they're going to do away with the box set. As long as I can get all 3 movies at a low price, I don't care if they come in a box or not.

My import should be any day now. Bit annoyed actually as discs sent after this one have already turned up.
I still have the poster for this up on my wall, a classic.

Yes. You are the only one that thinks classics are overrated
For me it just depends on the movie. Some classics, for me, just don't hold up as well as others. But some classics are timeless and are just as good now as they were in the past.

what a fillabuster movie in the series.
could have been so much better if the plot actually moved along in the 2 and a half hours...

and a huge HAHA to those who paid 70 to 100 bucks for them already, if this turns out to be true.
i have all those (sans 1) on bd already, so no need to repurchase.
