Whassappening with my Panny BD55?
Published (2009-11-07 23:52:00)
Just recently found out the issues. 1. "Drag me to Hell" needs firmware version 2.0 installed in my BD55, to be able to play! --> TY Cochise. What a drag? I guess, we're not out of the woods yet... We are stuck with firmware updates FOREVER. (Tomorrow new Blu-ray title release will require another firmware; and that's too bad for people without internet connection). 2. "Crank2: High...

Who knows? The number surely exceeds a thousand now since the (HD DVD) format's been dead for nearly 2 years. As far as HD DVD exclusives, if you include smaller studios and imports for which there is no HD DVD counterpart, there are 240: Complete List of HD DVD Titles (exclusives in Red)

As far as this Toshiba Blu-ray player, all we need to know is who makes it and what clones are available to determine how much it is really worth. I don't think Blu-ray player manufacturers are making much right now and Toshiba probably believes having a player to bundle with displays and sell a few at a profitable price is smarter than trying to compete at market prices for any given player level. Of course Toshiba could sell the player...

Isn't the LG BD 370 known for having upscaling problems or are those just rumors I hear? It's just better to get the BD 390 instead of the 370 right?

After the 3.0 firmware update? Huh? This update came out like 2 months ago, why would it just come out now unless it was an extremely minuscule number of players affected(or simply just a coincidence)?

Not an expert here but I think most if not all receivers now days have a factory reset that you can do. Maybe you can reset it to stop whatever the sound adjuster set? It sounds like your were happy before using that device. I've always been skeptical with tech like that. Maybe it just doesn't work well? That's about all I got. Good luck!

Hi Mike, 1. Try to disable the 'Viera Link' by setting it OFF (page 32). 2. And try setting the 'HDMI Resolution' to AUTO (also page 32). 3. And set the '24p Output' to OFF (also page 32). 4. And finally, if your TV is connected directly from the HDMI cable to your BD55, set the 'HDMI Audio Output' to OFF (also page 32 from your manual). * Hope this helps. Bob
