I feel the same way but you know something? it is not like this virus is constantly infectious it isnt there floating around waiting to latch on to someone so to speak. We dont know when we are shedding but if you take precautions you can have good sex again. Since I found out someone infected me without giving me a choice, I have not had sex. I am so scared of ruining someone's life, just as mine has been ruined. I wish there was a way to determine when you are active. I really miss the ability to express my love physically. Oh well, I guess I better get use to it. Wish I could be more upbeat about this.

I think it is sad that you think your life is ruined because of herpes. While i think everyone should have the choice whether they want to have sex with someone who has herpes, I would not feel bad if someone did catch it from me. My life is still wonderful and do not think having herpes is a big deal at all.

you are right lifesstillgood. your name says it all. my life is not even close to being ruined... I as well went thru the not wanting to date or even talk to a man phase. but it does pass. We are human and as much as we'd like to think we dont need it, we do. We need attention, affection. We need to give of ourselves, physically and emotionally as well. I felt the same...at first. And I think right now, the most important thing is to rebuild your self confidence. Like Strong said, people are more accepting than you think and it's true.
