Right now you are going through an emotional storm. Read as much as you can about H. This will become much less of an issue in your life.

heh, I'm in a relationship with the person I contracted H from and we're
not even having sex because of it! We keep getting outbreaks so we decided
to take a break from sex. It's not as bad as I thought, but boy, do I miss
it.

You need to tell well before the heat of passion. Many people on this site were not told, had no choice in the risk taking, and are not very happy about that, to understate it.

Hi and Welcome
It isn't very likely to spread hsv-2 to the mouth because it favors the genitals. It could still happen but the risk is pretty low. Are you taking
anti-viral meds? If so than the risk would be even less. Hope that this helps. Take Care and feel free to visit the chat room if you have lots of questions.

Other than staying strong and healthy i say you are already pretty much doing all you can...therefore your chances of passing the virus on to him are 1%. Those odds are great so take them already haha. Don't
stress out about getting an outbreak b/c that appears to cause an outbreak. He knows the low risk of getting it, and you are doing what you can...you'll be okay.
