this type of machine ruined the logging industry in my area. loggers went out and got huge loans and bought 2 of these at a time. they flooded the markets, the mills quit buying, loggers went bankrupt. yes they are neet machines, when used properly.[/QUOTE] Spouse the axemen said that about chainsaws!

From a medical standpoint, chipping or mulching is very much preferred by your asthmatic neighbors compared to burning. I know burning is cheaper, but as an asthmatic myself, I just hate to see piles of timber and brush burning if something else can be done with it like using a hammer mill or a tub grinder. The smoke and ash really foul up the air and it spreads for miles and miles downwind, causing breathing problems for a lot of folks. The...

It's still a cool machine. Watching it pick up and strip the trees--it's hard to believe those are living things. Wow!

Just a suggestion: Buy a dozer at auction, pile and burn , dig out an area large enough to bury the ashes etc. Relist the dozer for sale.

Hi, I remember the fuel line for those had the grommet built onto it. Its about a 5" fuel line with a grommet close the the end where it passes from the tank to the carb. cavity. I can find the part number for it if you need.

Here you go, Bellboy... you won't have to fool with chokers... I ran one of these for a couple of weeks... about two years ago. A friend was logging on some timber right next to ours... Didn't run it full time... just helped out... couldn't resist the opportunity... ran it for free and it was worth it... awesome machine... OCR

dennis from cenaf (least i hope i got the company right) posts lots of stuff bout the various types. you will find lots of info over on tbn in the toolcat forum iirc. to this outsider the principle difference seems to be in the construction of the teeth - some use a carbide tooth and some use a steel tooth you sharpen. i'm sure they have their different purposes, i get the impression your ...

I don't know the capacity of the 850C hydraulic pump, but 25-30gpm @X,000 psi and sometimes more is required. To me, that says power pack. On the positive side, it will make a good counter weight as the larger heads are pretty heavy. Fecon,FAE, and Cimaf seem to be the front runners in mulcher heads these days. In design, I like the Cimaf best.
