I've worked on a half a dozen 80s. The biggest Drott I've ever seen or even heard of was a 50. If you find those photos please post them here. I would be interested in seeing them and I'm sure others would also.

Cat 385C L Loads Roll-Off
Published (2009-11-22 20:25:00)
Rob It looks to me like the ground he is sitting on is restrained inside another cell of the cofferdam. I think that is the only way to get out to the edge like that in the first place. I think you got it right on the dewatering of the material. As far as the comment about why they don't use a slotted bucket, maybe they don't have one for the machine, and for a 385 you are talking big $$ to buy one, or just use what you have and take...

Does the pump have to say diesel? There seems to be cheaper ones that are for gas but napa/s cheapest diesel is $130 and I get a good discount (list is $245). Or did my buddy who works there miss a cheaper pump good for diesel?

The performance of the hydraulic system is proportional to the power of the engine. When the engine looses rpm the computer senses it and backs off the pumps to maintain the rpm of the engine. Since the horsepower on your engine is going out the breather tube and not the crankshaft you basically don't have the power to run your hydraulics. You need a new engine. Good luck on finding that.

What you are asking for is somewhat new to me and I worked for years on Drotts. The model 80 was a rubber tired backhoe or out here in the Northwest they were also log loaders. I've seen the truck body also used for Drott cruise cranes. I have never seen or heard of a Drott 120. Maybe there was something different that was used in your section of the country?

That's some very good questions AK Sunrise. Since it's been years since these type of machines were used, it might take a while before someone with knowledge can answer the questions. Let's hope someone does.

If you are boomed up and only work the stick does it operate normally? When you operate the boom and stick together does the boom slow down?
