Thank you for your replies, I guess I shall be giving that one a miss It is such a shame, these places seem so promising and then sock you one between the eyes! There is absolutely nothing in my area of Kent, so I was hoping for a decent correspondence course. There has to be something out there ... Perhaps a thread with votes on the best correspondence colleges I shall keep searching away ...

Hi sarahsu Great news ! you will have no difficulty in being able to 'specialise' in whatever you want under the umbrella of Reflexology. As you do the course it should become more and more clear that you are actually working with the whole person mind, body and spirit rather than any particular condition they may or may not have. However if you focus your interest on helping people with certain conditions you will attract these...

Thanks for your reply Reiki Pixie. You're so right. I am worrying about this far too early on. Its taken me a long time to have the confidence to start my new journey into a job I'll love (as opposed to the awful office work i've been stuck in for years)......so i'm spending alot of time trying to work out what I should do/when/how. I'm going to give myself a session of Reiki and chill out! Great to hear what you have...

Hello welcome to HP, If I was you I really would take BGFL's advice and stay well clear, they have this irritating, fawning manner with their prospective students while trying to get money out of you then once you are signed up they treat people appallingly, I signed up for a course on Co-Dependency Counselling the material was so shoddy and very, very basic it shocked me and the people who work there once they have money out of you are...

Hi Elewolf, I have quite a lot of BSY material, including relaxation therapy, and to say it is basic is an understatement. There are some great books and DVD's available on meditation, however im not sure about meditation teaching, so cant help you with that one, sorry.

There has been much said about BSY on this forum, a simple search should reveal the information you need. From personal experience, I would not waste my time and money on what for me were outdated and shoddily prepared course materials. I actualy bought a course to check to see if it met the National Occupational Standards in my subject specialism, and honestly it was poor. regards BGFL

I've studied with them but when they were still the NFSH. Very good courses and a great healing organisation to join. Thoroughly recommended.

Hi Sarah
Don't be so hard on yourself ;-) Relax, chill.
If you are at the beginning of your holistic therapy training, why be focused on specialities so early on?
Therapy modalites and specialisms change as we change as therapists. I started off as a Reiki~Reflexologist and several years down the line I now practice mainly Thai, Tui-Na and Indonesian Therapeutic Massage, and teach Tai...

I really wanted to go on this course but could not get time off work. I have read loads of books on this and am going to make friends and family creams and potions for christmas presents this year. I am very jealous of you, let me know how it went and if you can recommend the course, the one I saw showed you how to make lip balm, face creams and was based in london. Enjoy it.

Confused about courses! Can anyone help?
Hi all
I have been looking into massage courses around my area as I am hoping to start studying next year. I have found a course I like, have spoken with the tutors and am generally feeling very positive about it. The school is listed by the GCMT so I'm content that any qualification would at...
