Scared about lung cancer :(

Honestly, Ali, I'm living proof that it's possible to give up. Seven years down the line I can't imagine ever wanting to smoke again. And when it's a question of 'carry on smoking and you die' it's really not hard to give up. Good luck again. xdxx

Over sensitive to smell
Published (2009-11-05 16:19:00)
Hi David, The leg wound is where I had a malignant lump removed, it has a skin graft over the area which is still settling in. I had the operation about a month ago. I'm quite self-conscious about it though it appears that only I can actually smell it. I'm really looking forward to this wound being healed over, in the meantime olbas oil is kind of working to mask it a bit. lol L&L

Thirty four years ago a little person came into my life and convinced me to never smoke again. He's still in my life, although in California, and I am still not smoking. He has brought great joy to me and I am so thankful that I am his father.

Hey Ali, Was so worried to read this but thankfully it is not serious for you but please take this now as a little sign to stop. It is not easy but for the sake of your future it is wise to leave the cigs behind, you know I stopped after 23 years of 25+ a day. I am today free of all that. I still get stressed over stuff, still feel tired, hungry, scared, angry but these are just emotions and feelings and a cig will and cannot help or take away...

Good luck stopping for good, sadly, it is something like this that is the only thing that stops us from smoking. If you start craving again in the future, just ride it...won't last for long... but the benefits to your health will last, hopefully a long lifetime. Now you have stopped read up on why its so bad for you too, it will be motivation to carry on xxx

Hi, In my experience it's not uncommon to have a heightened sense of smell, either during menstruation or during the menopause. I haven't seen this described anywhere in the literature, but I've come across it a good few times over the years. What is your leg wound? David

Some people are blessed with being offered a second chance - take it. Give up the cigs and get your breath back. There are so many other unpleasant lung diseases out there, which you can get from smoking. Best of luck with giving up and getting your health back.

I know how worried you must be. I went through the same sort of thing 7
years ago when I was diagnosed with a lung disease (not cancer) which often
kills people within 5 years of diagnosis. Luckily, so far my disease has
not progressed but I don't have full lung function. I had been a smoker for
about 35 years at that point, but I gave up overnight. I hope you will be
able to look on this as your...

Hi there
A friend of mine who had had breast cancer two years before and 13 years before that was one of my case studies when I was doing massage therapy so my tutor went over the lymphatic drainage moves, very light and feathery. Obviously not something I can go into here but have you thought of looking it up on the net as it could be that someone has put something on You Tube (?)
Sorry ...

Hi,
Perhaps a trip to see his doctor would be in order, at least then his doctor can refer him to someone who specializes in his condition. Better to catch something early, then wait till the problem becomes much bigger.

I asked at my surgery today and they had the forms. This will be so helpful as I couldn't believe how much in the way of dressings etc I had to pay for after my skin graft!! Luckily Somerset Angel's husband insisted on paying for a 3 monthly 'season' prescription card otherwise I would have been struggling!!
So, I strongly urge anyone diagnosed with Cancer or you KNOW someone who has get this ...

Hi Lynds,
Good for you to volunteer, the clients will love their treatments and you will learn so much by doing this, you will benefit more than you can imagine. I have volunteered at my local hospice to give Reiki. I worked one day a week for six months and loved it. The people were really welcoming and I worked with another lady for a while to show me the ropes and what to expect. I gained...

Just have to add that my hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer almost two years ago. He decided not to go the chemical route, but does use saw palmetto alongside a tablet prescribed by the doctor to reduce the size of his prostate. Plus a mult-vit and omega 3 fish oils.
To be honest he has more trouble with his back, which again he decided not to have an operation over 8 years ago, so ...
