the blood test was sent to wales in England and they only tested for the boreillo virus(sorry spelt wrong) when we all know that tick carries thousands of viruses. to be honest the hospital did not want to send off for the test so i think they only paid for the cheapest going... Difficult to say but mine did improve after months of treatment. If I get tired I still have focus problems but last year everything looked blurry and dim....much improved this year, my eyeglass prescription from a year ago is still working just fine.

Where was your blood sent for testing? If not one of the Lyme testing labs (like Igenex) your results could be incorrect. But diagnosis isn't based on lab work for LD so good that your doc is starting treatment right away regardless of the results. Is he an LLMD? I think probably not because he would know that one month of abx is not enough. If he's open, you could bring him relevant information as to why abx needs to be continued...

Telvock, Thanks so much for responding! I have turned on my 'receive emails from members' but am not quite sure how to use it. Any names you could provide would be wonderful! Thanks again, Michelle

Sorry for your pain Singergirl, Oftentimes, when docs don't know what is wrong or how to treat, they do a lot of diagnostics trying to find the answer. I would just caution about assenting to a spinal tap. If you are not already, you really need to find an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) who will start you on some treatments for your symptoms. You could post another thread asking for an ...

well the most reliable lab right now is Igenex in Ca. and even they cannot be 100% accurate. i guess i would have to depend on your symptoms and what you can rule out as to whats causing them. but as you probably know lyme tests are horrible at doing what they are suppose to do which is detect lyme. im not sure about the Vit D question.

GP's know nothing about Lyme! I would say you have Lyme with your symptoms and a positive 41. Most LLMD's place more emphasis on symptomology rather than the tests because there a great many people with LD who test negative. The tests are not that reliable for definitive answers. Also, there are only 3 labs that know how to test for Lyme. Your ordinary lab, that most docs send blood work to, ...
