lowering cholesterol. I don't know about the chews, but the spread is proven to lower cholesterol in many research studies. My doctor (cardiologist) recommended it to me a few years ago. The results for both LDL and HDL were clearly visible. I am now trying Smart Balance (plant sterols) and the flavor is better than the Benecol. I will know more after ...

Nice one WCG,
Good to hear that you are amongst the growing ranks of RYR followers. Did you take advice from this board from Taffyboyo or Lord_Taff?
Just one thing, I would advise taking, depending on your age, a minimum of 100mg Kaneka quality CoQ10 daily.

Has he heard of Rhabdomyolysis?... a known side effect of statins...
Was your kidney disease before or after statin drugs?

RYR studies:
Out of the thousands of participants of numerous controlled studies, only one reported muscle problems and this could be that that person was also taking prescribed medication.
Common side effects are dizziness, low appetite, nausea,
stomach-ache and diarrhoea. However, if taken during an evening meal, many of the above can be overcome.
Several members of this board have had ...

Is it saying that HDL of 79 is "high risk", or just that it is "high"?
High HDL is generally considered to lower the risk of heart disease.
