Let's hear some good rants about gym pet peeves, poor etiquette, mild annoyances, or funny things you've seen or heard in the gym. I'll start! (My workout is usually a great stress reducer, but not tonight. So I could use a laugh) Gym employees who turn off the TVs 15 minutes before closing time, so you miss the end of a good show, and lose the extra motivation you need to stay on ...

Hey! I Recently started weight training, and cardio ATLEAST Twice a week along with in-school Fitness and weightlifting class. 2-3 days of weightlifting/cardio and 2-3 days of in-class exercise. This summer I've really taken advantage of the nice weather by working out a lot outdoors. I take hour long, fast paced walks almost every day. A couple days a week I go to the gym for weights. My problem is the days are getting colder and darker. I need to bring my workout indoors, but I just can't get motivated to do so. I'd love to go for a long walk tonight, but it's cold and rainy. The scale at Doctor's office 4 mos ago showed 184 lbs, the bathroom scale a few mins ago read 160 lbs. But the mirror on the wall shows some turkey neck, gobble gobble. Yuk. And I'm an old guy (51 yrs old) and gotta wonder if there's some kinda exersize or something I can do to tighten up some o that flabby old gooey neck stuff. Yuk

First post - so hi - Im a male in my early 30's, about 5'10, and weighing 15stone - 210pounds i want to lose about a stone and half, i have given it a go on a number of occasions and i see results and then start thinking i can eat what i like I dont do much excersise but do have a manuel job at times, i run my own business and i am currently renovating my house, so i find little "me" ...

I'd like to get some opinions on some really good running shoes. I'm a mostly indoor runner that likes to run on the treadmill or on an indoor track if I have access to have (usually it's just the treadmill). I usually buy some sort of Nike's, but really only started running regularly this past year. My previous pair of shoes were Asics (the only wide width shoes I could find that I liked...

I've been doing cardio for years and I'm pretty "die-hard" at it. Not only do I train at a high intensity, but I also go for the length of the workout. For some reason, I've always had it in my head that I need to do cardio for at least 60 min. and that's what I've been doing all along.
