Getting very nervous. Surgery is tomorrow and did not sleep well last night. I called the ent office this morning. They keep stressing to eat a normal diet afterwards. Has anyone else had two or three procedures done at once?

Prednisone and allergy meds
Published (2009-12-05 21:59:00)
Hello! Does anyone know if it is ok to take Sudefed while on Prednisone? I have been post on Prednisone for 5 days to take down the swelling in my nasal passages. I feel stuffy and feel like I need some Sudefed. Is Prednisone different than that even though it takes down the swelling? I am hoping someone can answer tonight. Thanks!

I would try to find a neuro-ENT, if yoiu are having this much problem with dizziness your inner ear is involved and many regular ENT's don't know how to handle. They just keep writing presciptions for antibiotics that don't work.if prednisone is not helping then something else maybe going on. Start calling hospitals and ask about local neuro-ENT's and good luck.

Have you tried rinsing your mouth with unpasteurized apple cider vinegar? I usually mix 1 tsp or less in a glass of water to see how I do with that. Or, 1/4 tsp salt & pinch of baking soda in glass of water.

hey again soundboy...ugh, sorry about the nausea, now you know what many women feel during pregnancy!! I am so thankful i didn't have ANY after my surgery. It will feel SOOO good when you get the packing out. Things will sound a bit weird at first but you will quickly adjust. I think I am mostly sorry i waited so long to do this, and it is SO nice to actually hear people and not just nod and smile as you said!! I hope your nausea goes...

Good thoughts - thanks all. I will definitely poke around and try and find some info on long term effectiveness. Certainly hoping to hear from anyone w/ any of this sort of info. Really encouraged though about balloon sinuplasty. And FESS has no shortage of horror stories. Thanx everybody.

I have the same thing. My left ear is clogged or something. I am fairly dizzy. Today I had a Cat Scan of my sinus's and head. I am still waiting for results. I don't know whats going on. Its so frustrating. And I have had the fluid in the inner ears before and it took weeks to clear up. The dizziness can go on a long time. I hope you get to feeling better. Hang in there!

i don't have tubes, but know it is a minor procedure. You are only out of it (either twilight or out completely) for less than 15 minutes. I have heard that you have to be careful of getting water in your ears after that

Hi Mino I had the Coblation method on March 27 two weeks ago today. I am pretty much all healed now. I went back to work on Thursday on day 13 of my recovery. The first 5 days for me werent that bad at all. Just felt like a really bad sore throat when swallowing. Pain was around 4-5 if that. I did stay on top of the pain meds faithfully. I was constantly drinking water. I think I went ...

Irrigation is a great place to start. Sounds like the air might be dry in your home/office? cost is minimal for irrigation with a neti pot or sinurinse bottle. I use a humidifier in my room at night and one in my living room where i spend most of my time. When it runs dry, with in hours i feel my nose getting congested

I'm not sure what FESS stands for, but I've heard good things about balloon sinuplasty. It won't help for cases of deviated septums and growths, but if the airway/sinuses are constricted causing problems, it's supposed to be a lot less invasive. I'm curious as to how long the affects last if it's temporary or long-term, but even full surgery isn't guarunteed long-term.

I wonder if anyone has a comment to this, I called my dr. to make my 2 week ...
