Thanks.. they told us 2 or 3 days for results. Not sure why that is so much longer than the few hours. We would have loved that fast of results. Is there anyone out there that has had the experience of coughing up pure red blood, often in rather large amounts?

Hi Rllee07, I was diagnosed with Stage 111B NSCLC in April of 09. I have had radiation and three rounds of Cisplatin, Etoposide and Taxotere. I was told in August that my tumor had shrunk 50%. I will have another cat scan in November and will let you know at that time what happens. I spend a lot of time praying and specifically ask God to help me through whatever happens. Of course, I have moments of being afraid and wondering but I...

It seems a lot has changed since I posted in May. My Mom went through 9 week so chemo and 27 radiation treatments and after the PET scan was told that the tumor had actually only shrunk by 30%. A few weeks after that she was found lying on the floor moaning and was delirious. She had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital and had 103 degree temp. They did an MRI on her brain and the cancer has now spread to the brain. They could see 6...

I am having CT scan next week, but meanwhile I worry as well.

A CT scan with contrast is done with a chemical injected into the body, That chemical

I wouldn't be to worried, I have had spots that where very small in my lungs 3 times and had a needle biopsy on each, I spent a long time talking to the guy that did the biopsy
And he told me in all the years he has been doing biopsy's he has never had a wrong reading no matter how big of small the spot was, If he was able to get a peace of it then 99.99% of the time it is correct. My 3 times ...

Anytime something is found in your lung, I would be very concerned. Listen to your doctor. Lung cancer kills quickly.
Noncalcified is worst than calcified. Calcified is usually benign. Noncalcified could be cancer.
My husband was diagnosed with a 5mm noncalcified lung nodule a couple of months ago. We pushed and he is going to the Lung Center at Washington University tomorrow ...
