Hi there, Thank you both for posting a reply to my question. I think one of the biggest thing is the uncertainty of not knowing what is wrong. Chris you seem to have a good attitude. It is YOUR body and it sounds like you are making the best out of it. That is awesome. JSHER - I think the uncertainty of the unknown is the most difficult. I think once you get a diagnoses and move past acceptance, you will do just fine (as will I). I have a...

Thanks for the response. I am suppose to work up to 2700 mg per day if needed. Hope I don't require that much.... I am also on Clonazapam only at night though.

I had no symptoms prior to my first issue.  I experienced vertigo that worsened over a three week period.  I was eventually hospitalized as I could not walk unaided.  I was in the hospital for four days and during that time had lots of tests.  I had a spot on an MRI that was diagnosed as a small stroke.  Five weeks later I had more issues, again with the vertigo but also with double...

I was a dancer so very much in tune with my body. about a year and 1/2 ago I starting feeling VERY fatigued with occasional heaviness in my legs. I was given a blood test and told nothing was wrong. the heaviness in my legs and extreme fatigue continued and I ignored it. They tested my thyroid and not much...

I have not had any recent x-rays but because I also had breast cancer, I was concerned it may be related to that.

Back and hip pain
Published (2009-12-26 11:54:00)
I am so glad you asked this question - I thought I was the only one to suffer from leg and hip pain with my m.s. I've always had a problem with my right hip and leg. I sort of had to hike my hip to walk but my right leg always dragged or I would hook my toes in nothing and trip. I'm still like that to this day but I need walking aids and a chair for long distances. The pain is so severe at times that it keeps me awake, it's a...

Published (2009-12-25 18:07:00)
Hello everyone, my name is Brian, and I am a 32 year old male, who was just diagnosed with MS, but i am not sure if the diagnosis is accurate. I was recently in severe benzodizepine withdrawal, which mimics many many symptoms of MS. But almost 3 months away from valium, many symptoms were getting worse, especially cognition. I took myself to an ER because of a sensation in my head, that I can still feel strongly, and I feel contributed to...

I take this for arm pain. Just at night though because it makes me drowsy. As long as I am consistent with it, it seems to help.

I'm in the same boat......I want to know for certain, though! My brain MRIs are clean, so I'm scheduled for a spinal MRI and a spinal tap on the same day. Next Tuesday. I'm also in the middle of being tested for Lyme disease (LD has many of the same symptoms as MS). The first blood test was positive (Lyme ELISA), so now I'm waiting for results of the Western Blot testing (more sensitive ...

I have never experienced this. MS is very varied. It really depends upon where one's lesions are located. I see that you have been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Many neuros won't consider MS when Lyme has already been diagnosed. MS is a diagnosis of exclusion. If you have lyme, then that is what is causing the lesions and symptoms (according to many docs). Lyme is one of the great...
