aye Pete, it never ends, huh? I can understand the deductible thing. My insurance plan started over in December & I didn't realize (since I'm under my parents' insurance) and boy was I in for a shock when I went to the pharmacy. Hopefully the delay of your procedures works out for the best. Enjoy the time you have with your boys! hugs, Skeye

Jenna, Sorry I've not been able to respond sooner. Having continuing computer problems. I think it's difficult for many people to understand what we go through, as others have said, but I think it's also a little more pronounced at a young age when others have had so little life experience themselves to have any way to gain a perspective on the experiences of others. Yes, you are being abandoned, but that will happen to you in...

ER pain meds
Published (2009-12-21 13:02:00)
Are there any extended release pain meds out there that anyone knows of. I started out on Avinza but it didn't work well enough so my doctor switched me to oxycontin. The oxycontin is $75 per month with insurance. The doctors office gave me a discount card for it which lowered it to $20 but the card expires 12/31/09. The doc may give me another card but in case they can't I was just asking if...

WV when my meds had to be changed in my pump no, my dr did not taper me off the meds before putting the new medication in. I don't understand why your dr is doing that. I went from Morphine to Dilaudid and had no trouble. It does take 24 hrs for the old medication to clear your catheter line too in case you did not know that. I see WhiteBeard has responded, I hope you will email him with your questions on the cancer thing. he can help...

I am fuming for you! What a bunch of crap. so you were walking around with a broken bone, no doubt in agony, and now will suffer because of there mishap. I know that suing seems like it will be a huge deal, and that the statute of limitations has run out, but I'm sure a good lawyer could find a loop hole somewhere, maybe the mistake wasn't found in time! I read you're story and I just about flipped out, I would want something...

Well my dear friends and family, I had a rude awakening this morning! As usual, I was up most of the night, woke at 3:00am w/ mucho pain and couldn't get back to sleep so got up and got the coffee/espresso mixture brewing! I'm sure lots of Y'all know about that program! At around 7:15am I started getting tired so went back to bed just as my sweetheart was getting up, even w/ 3/4 of a pot of very strong black java I...

I'm sorry Pete. Sounds like an awful day, except for getting the Christmas Shopping done. I hope that things smooth out soon. Seems like I am having a year like yours has been and so far, it ain't going good........ Hang in there, and you can get the MRI done before the new year you know, then you would have to make the appointment with the Ortho anyway. Sandi

If you are hosting the Christmas get together don't be afraid to ask your guests to bring a covered dish if you are planning a meal.

Jag, I was a thinking that methadone is a slow release and I have a few friends here at work that are on it, and they said it is a much smother ride, and does not have the up and downs as the ir meds. Also, I think your Dr. is doing the right thing, and it is best to stay on the low side, so that you have room to work up if needed. I'm at that point right now...halfway comfortable...but it ...

I can sympathize. What decorating that we are going to do around the house was done the weekend after Thanksgiving, but that does not mean I have been able to sit back and relax. Like you I have had quite a few medical appointments and I have had my usual of making sure a toddler doesn't kill himself or me with his rambunctious play. We are in the process of switching cable/phone/internet ...

Mike, Welcome to the CP site. I'm not real sure of your diagnosis and won't be of much help. I can tell you that you've found a wonderful place to ask questions and quiz folks. I've not met anyone in here that isn't caring and compassionate. In one way or another we all share one common thread and that is we hurt most all the time and sad but true it is nice to find people that share your ...

Thanks for the info Laurie, I'm glad you were looking out for your husbands well being because it looks like he wasn't capable of doing it on his own. There are so many of these side effects that aren't put on the meds so people won't be scared off. I tried Lyrica before and my husband hated me on it. Not something I will try again!

Honey, I,m sorry for all your going through. Believe me, I,ve been there and continue to be there. Long story of falling and injuring my leg. It was never diagnosed correctly, so now I live on pain pills, ointments and just being careful what and how much I do. This has gone on since 1991.
