IEM's are my thing
Published (2009-12-26 12:16:00)
Most of my listening time is spent with IEMs. The convenience and relatively inconspicuous appearance of IEMs just makes them a more practical choice over full-sized headphones for me, when I want quality personal listening on the go. However, I regard them as an an adjunct to my full-sized cans rather than a replacement for them.

i would actually go with the klipsch S4. They got a 2 year warranty and sound great after around 100 or so hours of burn in. They go for $79 shipped from sound earphones but you can get them cheaper in the FS threads if you search for them. Since you seem worried about the bass of the ER6i it *probably* is not enough for your tastes coming from a cx300. The same can probably be said for the RE0.

Triple.fi has very clear and sharp treble - the OP just has a bad fit I guess. IE8 treble is a little grainy and harsh by comparison.

I've actually taken shots (on ebay) at both the Rolands and the Yamahas. I guess I wasn't interested enough to actually bid competitively - the RH10MS has always interested me more but I've been unable to get one of those as well. As for the mini Denons, I may get a chance to borrow those from a friend at a later date. Certainly have looked at them before but they are mentioned around these parts very rarely.

warranty would be voided by this I suspect, but if you have no warranty left I think it would be up to you. The one thing I would wonder is would that make them to structuraly rigid and possibly make them more prone to breaking?

Even though this thread is screwed. We like Ultimate Ears more (even though owned by Logitech) because of their sound signature over Shure. Also you dont have to put up with Shure's Customer Service if your IEMS stop working correctly because there is a just a problem with the cable and your past the warranty period and the only thing you can do is send them in, just to get a coupon in the mail for a discount on the current equal model....

Just got mine today and so far am very pleased with them. Previous pair of In ear phones were the Shure E2C and I really liked those. Unfortunately I lost them a few months ago, but they lived a good life with me for about 3 1/2 years. I am planning on sending these in around my Bday to make them customs and I will be more than happy for years to come.

Without actual A/B all discussions are baseless.
Someone has to have both (or had UE11 Pro) and compare the two for actual information.
One thing's for certain, I expect BETTER workmanship than what UE (under logitech) has shown(not terrible, but not what it used to be).

The lower end Shure's aren't very good. I would suggest the RE0. Highly recommended here on head-fi

Also make sure you are positive about the model you want because JH Audio will not let you upgrade to a higher model, as I tried too.
I was wanting to upgrade to the JH10X3pro because I prefer a more neutral sound. Oh well...

Equipment (output such as earphones), source then bitrate in terms of impact on your listening experience.
Equipment is most important as it most affect how the music is interpreted and ultimately heard by you, then the source as if you got a crap signal to begin with, it won't change too much once it reaches you and then the bitrate because of psychoacoustics and the equipment affect how ...

Man, the blue ones? REALLY? Seems like the M8s are the only model that site carries - it shame they don't have the M5s as well. Anybody know if they are an authorized dealer, or does Future Sonics not make a fuss about that?

I see the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 on sale on Amazon for around $140. (which seems like an incredible deal, down from $400) Do you guys think they would have enough bass? I listen to rock and house music.

A pretty obvious comment but I will make it anyway. How about custom sleeves for the IE8's? I have only heard them very briefly but from what I did hear, they take the IE8's to another level. Obviously don't look as slick as a full custom, if that matters...
