I might be wrong, but my sense of things is that a simple chord is much more satisfying than a few single notes. You can kinda bang a chord and sound alright almost instantly... GaJ

I like it. Listening properly is much more important than learning theory.

As a rock player myself who is experimenting with this sound..I think you've answered the question yourself. Playing chord tones on the strong beats is important..but the most important thing is "hearing" it...as it always is with music!.
It's taken me years, and I mean years, to "hear" it. It was just too "alien" to my rock trained ears!. There's some nice licks and scale info here:

Jeremy, that's a good one and I think basically the same as what I would want.
To be able to play guitar like we sing/talk (except not how I sing!). A perfect brain-body connection.
Perhaps, we should forget scales and all that and just sit with our guitar and repeat notes we hear. Play by ear. Over the course of time we might achieve the goal.
A program like this might work if ...

The interesting thing from my perspective is that the more advanced players need to look beyond technical expertise for their solution while less advanced players need to put non-technical efforts/focus aside in order to more fully develop their technical skill set.
You gotta love the guitar it really is a complicated and demanding relationship / experience we've chosen.
cheers,

Transcription - as we use the term around here, is less about documentation of the song and.or parts and more about creating an alternate view of the song for the purposes of analysis (melodic, harmonic, improv or compositional).
The point is to transcribe in order to learn the song (more than just learning how to play one or more of the parts). Does that make sense? Is this what you are ...

There is no secret...
Just divide it to short segments (one or two bars), that way its easier to learn and understand.
you can use tabs, guitar pro, power tabs, etc... there are plenty of transcriptions on the internet.
The best way is to do it by yourself - you can slow it down using windows media player, if you have trouble getting it at the original speed. play it over and over until you...

Bro that was awesome! You really are a great player and having you contribute here is really cool. Those kind of drills with pentatonics really helped drill them in for me. An excellent lesson
