Like Chuck, I have what I would describe as "certain workaholic tendencies". That said, I disagree with him completely. I see retirement as a career change. Though possibly a non-profit one. If you don't understand the concept of retirement, then it probably means that your job is the only thing in your life that you're any good at, or that you feel is rewarding. And my instinct is that that probably isn't...

I have one. They sound almost as a cross between a guitar and a mondolin. Very small and packable. You could probably take it as carry on. They're weird to play though. I've only used it twice.

I know it is a bit early to do this but with the tv series one I figured why not. Anyways who is the best band of this decade? Rules are that their first studio release had to be after 12/31/1999. Since best is kind of subjective why don't we focus on the most influential band of the decade. Who changed the music scene the most? (for better or worse)

I wouldn't put it that harshly, but yeah I have a couple Larry Carlton albums and they haven't been played all that much over the years. His work with Steely Dan OTOH is outstanding, and more than makes up for anyone who may have inadvertently slipped into a coma while listening to his solo work.

Do you Drink? - 208 new posts

Do you Drink? I'm turning 18 next January and while the legal drinking age of Japan is 20, pretty much all of my friends drink and smoke but me. I have learned from my alcoholic parents that I shouldn't really go that path. I'm not being a goody-goody, I'm scared of being an addict. Do you drink alcohol?...

If, when you see a pretty girl walking down the street, you can really believe that she might be better for you than your girlfriend, you're not with the right woman. I see beautiful girls everyday. But I have no question that my wife is the best partner I could ever find. If there's something lacking, go find it.

I never understood the concept of retirement I've had this conversation with some people that are up there in years and they said they loved retirement because they never had to work again and could basically lounge about and relax for the rest of their years. Maybe its just my family background or the fact that I have certain workaholic ...
