So, do we now have to throw finger tips in the mix?

From what I've read, they really open up with external cabs... but can be used with just the 6.5 speaker. It's a cool idea, and fairly inexpensive. I also think the 12 inch one could be worth looking at but the little one would make a great "travel" amp. M

Either on craigslist or on ebay... I'll look for local stuff on ebay and ask if I can pick it up to save on shipping. Depending on the item, you can save a good bit of change. I used to make a couple to several hundred dollars extra month by buying bikes on eBay, then selling them on craigslist.

The black label Fenders with the Squier Series on the ball I have seen have been from around '94, Made in Mexico. Essentially, the bodies were pretty much normal MIM bodies. The necks are actually very decent. The hardware they saved some money on - but that can be upgraded. Great platform for modding b/c of the very comfortable necks, and usually the cheap used price b/c of the Squier label...

You get the same note-to-note definition and clarity, plus the same snap, you would get out of a Fender-style single coil, because there is no other coil to mix it with and muddy it up. And, vintage spec'ed, they can sound plenty bright and clean. They really are single coil in nature, just with a lot of mids that give it an overall fat tone.
