I use my 14x20 mostly for a rock/blues band. Currently using a superkick 1 batter, and eq3 reso. I wanted heads that will give more notice to the lows, so I don't have to have it too loose. It thumps, but kinda short and fitting for the style. I'm thinking of trying out a EMAD reso or maybe even the infamous kickport.

Yamaha began offering the DTXIII $1,000 off it's original $4K price. Still, IMO, it's too much to pay for rubber pads that just aren't up to mesh standards of performance.
The sampling feature and the anti-machine gun effect software is pretty cool, but it still sounds less realistic than roland, which still doesn't sound real to me.

Where's the Soundhole Thread?
Ok, so the mentally challenged monkey-boys at HC appear to have totally destroyed all search capability. Anybody recall the thread a while back about nifty ways to cut a soundhole in a front kick drum head? I'd like to look back through it.
Or if anyone has a super-handy-dandy way to cut a perfect ...

Please post your setup of your drum kit, heads, cymbals and hi-hats you use.
