As Bubbie found out, your electrical system is BATTERY operated by design...the charging system is made to SUPPLEMENT that power delivery. Once up to speed, the alternator is essentially "coasting" as most of the excess energy is "shunted" by the regulator and battery if in good shape is float charging. When just starting, the alternator is essentially off and the battery is powering everything, Fuel Pump,...

Bill, watch this vid......do you ride like this fool? (I'm sure the answer is a resounding "NO!") Look at this, and ask yourself who'll live longer, him or YOU! WARNING! This video is rated I, for IDIOT. Be advised that you are about to witness the stupidest thing ever, maybe even stupider than marrying my long-gone ex-wife! (Although NOT as suicidal in behavior!)

Can't help with the question but be very carefull you get the right one because I got the wrong one a couple of years ago and could not get it exchanged due to the fact they had to programed it to the right odo reading. You might want to check with your local dealer.

Re: Just answer these three simple newbie questions please!!
The toggle switch on the left side is the spare accessory switch incase you want to add something to your bike...The engine light does come on to show you the light works but goes off after the engine starts...the third question could be an oil pressure problem!...

I had that problem a while ago.I ended up driving a screwdriver through the side of the filter and using that to loosen it enough to turn off.Messy, but it worked. After I was done I pressure washed the area below the filter making sure I got the oil out of the motor mount area.

I agree with you here, the $11.58 for the 80/100 Osram bulb verses $500 for the HID and I'll bet if you put them side by side, you still couldn't justify the $500 unit.

Re: Mean looking Tourer
VERY mean machine indeed! Really looks nice if a "mean tourer" is what you're looking for....in fact, it's spot-on!
For myself, too much black there. I like COLOR, and if I ever do get a custom paint job again, it's Candy Apple colors in multi-hues mixed with big and heavy metal-flake all over the...

I got mine on the charger, washed and waxed also, just need to change the oil, we have some flurries here today also, not major but a little, hoping to be able to do the Polar Bear ride on New Years day, and possibly some more riding before the big snow comes.

Re: 255 cams/what to expect ?
Cams alone are not going to do that. If you are looking to decrease 0-60 time, you should probably be looking at some overall motor work, especially heads, they will do wonders.
