I am hosting our annual halloween party and my family is going with a circus freak theme. My husband will be a midget circus ring master, my daughter is a fortune teller, and my son in law is the bearded lady. I have no idea what to be. I have thought about being a clown but I am just not that excited about it and I cannot spend a fortune on a costume. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The wife & I have already decided that we're going as the Tim Burton version o' Sweeney Todd & Mrs. Lovett. I'm have a hard time trying to find fake/replica/prop straight razors. Does anyone know of someplace online that sells 'em? Help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys....I have found a small selection of hats on ebay, using the wording recommended by Rikki . So I'd appreciate a little help choosing which would suit the outfit best: I really like the veils on the first two, I love the feathers on the last one, but I don't like the lace on the last one. There were a handful of stunning hats, but price or the item ...

I can't find this costume anywhere on the web except this one sight which says it is out of stock for 2007. I tried to send them a email but, they never answered. Just wondering if any of you have seen it anywhere. Creepy Doll

I attend Mardi Gras Society Halloween parties all the time. (Live in Mobile, AL. Home of the ORIGINAL Mardi Gras.) I go to great lengths for my costumes, but don't bother to compete. It's always crappy to spend months on costumes and hours on make up and the award going to some drunk dude who wore his girlfriend's dress and a wig or some drunk Marilyn Monroe wannabe with her tit hanging...

I'm going as the girl in "The Birds" movie. I read somewhere (maybe here) how to do it. I bought a skirt outfit from Goodwill and will make buying some ravens or crows and somehow sticking them to my outfit by their beaks and putting blood around it. I am using Woochie and putting the "peck wounds" on my face. I am wearing a blond wig as well. My husband found some cool cartoon hands and ...

My friends used to do a one item costume party. Bring a towel and say you are an alien hitchhiker. Or do you need something that is obviously a costume? You can get skeleton suits similar to the one Donnie wore pretty cheap, or did you want the Frank costume?

check ebay for the cane or look in thrift stores and modify one for your costume. as for the jacket and pants, again thrift store. Find them in light colors in yellows and greens possibly light blues, and make sure they are all cotton, then dye them. be sure to wash them thoroughly and apart from other clothes so you don't stain any other clothes i don't recommend the official joker ...

How about doing a ghost/ghoul/zombie of a movie, tv, comic character or someone famous or fairy tale characters, or Barbie. Dead Cinderella, Snow White - (really white now). That kind of thing.

I searched and could not find a thread just for 2008 costumes. List here what you are planning to be this year. My plan for this year is to be a spider lady. I'm going to wear all black and cover myself in creepy cloth and spider webs. I'm going to flat iron my hair and use gel to make it like straight dreads (almost like spider legs). I'll do lots of dark makeup and have lots of ...

I'm hosting my usual Halloween party, and I've set the theme to be "Fear", asking people to wear "Phobia" inspired costumes. I'd like to do something freaky, instead of campy, but I don't have any good ideas besides a scary clown. Anyone got any ideas of a good phobia with potential for a scary costume. Basically I'd like it to be the kind of costume that would scare someone who had a phobia ...

Me! I will absolutely not be dressing as the Joker this or any year. Too often a popular film character gets over exposure in the Halloween costume world. I am so sick of pirate costumes after the POTC trilogy. Yes, I am guilty of doing a pirate themed haunt and party in 2006, and I have learned the error of my ways (although it was a blast) But I digress.... Eric

Hello all, I usually haunt the "props" section, but now I find myself scurrying to throw together a ghost costume. I want to be a "gentleman ghost" from the late 1800's in formal clothes (top hat and all). My dilema is that I'm hoping to throw this together with whatever I can find and on a short budget. I've checked the local thrift stores with no luck. Is there anywhere else I'm missing ...
