Most of my films are from the internet, rapidshare, so i don't really like the way nitotv and that look but its good for the stuff that need dvd rips, ill convert them and have them looking good with great cover art on the standard apple interface, the ok stuff can be played using nitotv etc

No the Factory Restore option was only done in my case because I was having an issue and wanted to start over fresh to try and work out my problems with a "virgin" machine again. If you ever want to do a Factory Restore, it's under your ATV's Settings menu. - MrPink077 Quote: Originally Posted by stillerz Is the "Factory Restore" mandatory for the upgrade from v2.4/nito 0.8 to v3.0/nito 0.8.2?...

Thanks for the reply -- that's very illuminating (and I had had no luck even trying to find anywhere near that level of explanation anywhere). I don't think most people would use a MBP as a media center; that's why as I stated I'm trying the Mac Mini route. Not sure if that poses the same problems or not. As for Tiger, I already have a Tiger partition set up and have attempted ATV4Mac on that. I would imagine that if...

Well, sometimes I AM really bored ;-) And unfortunately, I don't have enough spare time - otherwise maybe this would already work. Is it worth the trouble to make Leopard run on the ATV? Imho, not really. But (sometimes) it's fun.

No changes have been made to better support 2.3 in this version so if the missing features during quicktime playback are a problem then i'd still suggest staying at 2.1.

Doesn't the application launch at all? Have you tried launch different apps that you copied over the same way? Hotspot Shield should work the way you described it. But to make it launch, you have to install firefox as well. The first time you start firefox, it asks you to set it as default web browser: say yes! Then launch HSS and it should ask you to confirm the installation, then it should ...

im assuming you already have USB working you are just having issue with a hub? From my experience the only hubs that have ever worked have been ones that are powered hubs, ones that try to get the power from the device they are plugged into wont work with the AppleTV.
