Yeah the average PSU is going to struggle before the card does I fear, currently heat is really what is limitng overclockers past say a single 5870 can get, not much over 1Ghz basically. But if you were to then add watercooling you'd probably find the power draw on the PSU would be getting a bit silly, AMD recommends 20A on the 8 pin and 16A on the 6 pin and I know my Antec Quattro 850W puts out a rated 18A so...

are you asking about a 4890 with a built in hdmi port or one that comes with the dvi/hdmi adapter? i've never seen that card with built in hdmi in the before. if you're asking whether audio through hdmi on an ati card works well, then my answer is a resounding yes. i find it worlds better than having to run a pass through from the audio connectors on the mobo to the video card. if you're ...

Your processor is too slow, end of story.
If you really want to see why/how, use task manager.

Don't install the ATI sound driver? The card will by default disable the onboard sound as you've found. Also have you checked the control panel and disabled hdmi sound?

I'm running the 9.11 beta driver and sometimes when watching flash videos on the internet, mine will lockup to an off whiteish color screen. Running Windows 7 x64
Also getting distorted textures sometimes in Borderlands.
I like the card but I'm ready to throw it against the wall with all these driver problems.

I thought PhysX was disabled if any ATI cards were in the machine? Or did I miss a way to get around that? And if so, link?

From what I've seen, it's nearly always better to choose a singe high-end card instead of 2 lower cards.
However, given the shortage and price difference, I think it depends. But, if your screen is only a 225BW (22"), I don't even see the need for crossfire 5770's, let alone a 5870.
I'd say: Single 5770 unless you plan on Eyefinity with 3x 22" LCDs. Then I'd say 5850/5870.

It's better...by far. The E4300 won't get your full potential out of the card but it's not too much of a bottleneck. If you had say an E8400 @ 4 Ghz, you'd pull a few more FPS. But a Core 2 @ 3 Ghz is ok.
