Get Smart the movie

Well, it was okay, but honestly, the laughs were far and few between, and though Steve Carell gave it his best, it was really hard for me to accept anyone other than Don Adams as Maxwell Smart. Still, it was entertaining enough that I didn't regret buying the disc. I just won't be in a rush to view it again. Dwayne ( The Rock ) Johnson had a smallish role that may have made the film better had the role been larger. I honestly...

Tropic Thunder

Finally watched the whole thing last night after my Thanksgiving meal. That was pretty good. After seeing the credits (and how Tom Cruise acted), I couldn't believe Ben Stiller wrote and directed it. It didn't seem like it was all his type of comedy. It was a good laugh though.

Well I found this movie quite funny if you like this "type" of comedy. Lots of just plain stupid stuff going on throughout the movie that made me laugh. Lots of stuff in bad taste and lots of "this doesn't even make sense but it's funny" type material. Robert Downey Jr. was hilarious and even Tom Cruise made for some laughs. The movie is basically about some guys making a war movie that ...

Sorry to all those that liked it, what a dud. There is a thread way back when, but it's pretty far back. Picture quality was poor, can we please have some clairty. I don't care for the whole everything is black with black Silhouette. And the fisheye technique here and there was weak. It reminded me of something that was done in 4:3 "fixed" to go 16:9. Sound quality was poor, it was ...

Ok, I don't get this movie. I mean... it seemed more like a politic message more than anything. It was entertaining... but just weird. They didn't talk in the movie. It was just a bunch of robot sounds. PQ was mouth watering gorgeous, and the SQ was very impressive... but that's about it. I'm really not sure about this Pixar movie. It doesn't have a line to catch you by. It's just......

... happen for me. A lot of poor acting, even from Mark Wahlberg, who I usually like. A stupid plot and poor pacing. It's been out for awhile and I had been passing it up but finally rented it on Blu-ray. Terrible PQ. Lacked contrast in many scenes and color palette was rather odd. I think Mr. Shyamalan is trying too hard to repeat earlier successes and failing miserably as a result. Recommended...

I didn't see any reviews, but it's about Genghis Khan, so it looked interesting. I downloaded the movie and started watching it the night before. 50 minutes into the movie, it really grabbed me so I went out and bought it. The blu-ray version is beautiful! Lots of scenery, you know. It's not really a war movie. Story more than anything else about how a love for a woman made him who he ...

Stars Woody Harrelson who, along with his wife, Emily Mortimer, meet up with a mysterious young couple while travelling by train from China to Moscow. Things happen during the trip that cause Harrellson and Mortimer to fight for their life.
