Well guys... This year is not looking good... I did not see a deer. The temps were in the 50-60 way to hot for what I am used to. Do not get me wrong it was nice sitting out there, but not when you do not see deer. My dad did see 3 does so there are deer out there. I had to come back & take the kids to school this week. I will hit it again after thanksgiving. Have a good holiday & hunt...

I retract my previous statement. I just read through the owners manual and the part I was referring to as a firing pin is referred to as a stiker. That's my bad. I was applying logic to what the parts actually do without knowing the Springfield Armory nomenclature. I still say it's a firing pin but for all intents and purposes, it's a striker.

I chose XDM because the grip just felt better and more controlable in my hands.. Handle and shoot both of them and decide if you like the feel or not. As everyone else has said- you can put a new trigger in both guns. So pick the one that feels better to you and go with it

I'm sure it'll go bang, and it's a fairly safe bet it'll work just peachy in your XDm. It may have a different point of impact than what you usually shoot, though. Beyond that, it wouldn't be my choice for a carry/SD round.

Sounds like a safe plan. Go for it.
