I have only shot it in 9mm but I got the same results as you did, pretty crappy, so I just don't buy it. I now reload for 9mm as well as others so I just stick with that. If you really need to find factory ammo for cheap PMC is good but if I had my choice I would go with Federal American Eagle or Magtech.

I have had 15k primer on order at PV since April 15th....they arrived Friday
I think I'll order 15k more because by the time they get here I'll need them.
No upcharge...they were 22.50 per K, the price quoted in April...that was very classy of PV
Now if I could just get my order of 10k 147gr Zeros from Roze that have been on order since June
I may have to switch to molys......

I finally decided that I should just make up some rounds using Universal (which has published data) and see what there is to see. Up to the max in the manual, 3.3 grains.
I produced rounds that approximated what the Hodgdon manual says for the 147gr XTP. The manual says 869 fps, I got 852.
But that didn't really satisfy me--I'd rather have a lot more velocity than that.

Federal 40 S&W
Has anyone had any problems reloading federal 40 brass? I read somewhere that it is not advised but I have loaded a few hundred and had no problems loading or shooting.

If you're not going to hunt werewolves, then just reload it like you would any brass.

You know, I suppose that if you ARE super critical, make your own recipe, and run a few hundreds rounds of that recipe rigorously (doubletaps, etc.), then I personally WOULD trust my reloads over factory. IDK, maybe some people just dont want to take the time?

wow! i'd say that winnie 00 - 9 for $9.64 is a good deal for 15 shells. my local walmart sells those in 5 shell boxes for $4.50. So you're getting 5 more than me for the same price.
