I shoot my ss/od XDM9 in
USPSA matches twice a month. For once I neglected to clean it between matches and when I took it out of the case the night before the match I noticed a few spots of rust on the slide. Any suggestions on the best way to get the rust off.

So you think you have rust. Here is a gun that was in a box, basement flooded, this was forgotten in the box for a year or so and now it has a little too much rust to save. Tip of the barrel broke from rust so it's now garbage.

My grandfather put some shotguns in the basement and forgot all about them for 2 years. You guessed it, basement flooded. Guns are now rust from tip to tip. What is the best and fastest way to remove rust WITHOUT damaging weapons? Can I acid dip them after dis-assembly? Also I have an old S&W revolver that was in a
house fire and drenched and laid in the ashes for a couple of weeks and ...

I have perused the Rusty Tales thread for some time and I will chime in with my experiences. I know they are inexpensive. I know they are not sexy but I have had great luck with the El Cheapo
Uncle Mike's nylon paddle holsters. I lose the retention strap things that are held by Velcro and go with it. Nary a problem with rust has been experienced. I like the way they conform to your body as well. ...

I shoot my SS/OD XDM9 about every other weekend for USPSA etc. When I'm done I always clean, lube, and keep it put up in the XDM Gear Holster. More and more when I get it out it has spots of rust around the back half of the slide. I use either Hoppes or
CLP to clean. What is causing this? Do the all black guns have this sort of problem?

Hey guys... I just shot my new XD40SC for the first time last weekend (and it was awesome ) as well as my new Mosin Nagant M91/30 Russian WW2 rifle (which was also awesome ). Anyways, the rifle was shooting old corrosive
military surplus ammo and everything online said I should use warm soapy water to neutralize the corrosive salt deposits in the barrel, then continue cleaning it like you ...

My XD40 has sat in it's case, for close to a year. Before it was stored, it was thoroughly cleaned and coated in
Blue Wonder Armadillo, however, it has developed some rust. The rust is in the grip grooves of the slide, and kinda hard/tedious to get to. I used some Blue Wonder Gun Cleaner and a stiff nylon brush to scrub some of the rust out, but some still lingers.
Does anyone have any ...
