For what its worth...I do own one Wolff 7rd nickel finished magazine. These are actualyl made by Act-Mag- the same place where Novaks mags are made and run about 20 bucks or so. So far....after about 3 years of useage in the Colt, Springer and Kimber TLE it has been 100%. If you come across a deal on one of these and its cheap enough...give it a try. They're a little cheaper than the Wilsons and I got mine years ago at a gunshow for about...

When you rack the slide to load the round are you allowing the slide full release or are you easing it forward part way then releasing? Could be a feed ramp issue or, as with my 1911 Loaded, it could just need alittle more break in time.

What guns do you have? What else haven't you shot that you might like rifle or pistol? Heck you could get into a decent AR for a little more than a good 1911. Just to have a 1911 is great but what else can you do with that money (gun wise of course). Not talking you out of it just wondering.

You are not supposed to drop a round in like that it can damage your extractor. A round should only be loaded but putting a mag in and racking the slide. you gun may also not extract the round so you will not be able to fire another.

I was in Bass Pro in Vegas last month buying some ammo. A guy came up and I don't remember how the convo started but we started talking about 1911's. I told him I'm looking into buying a SA TRP, but before that I wanted a Kimber, either the SIS model or the TLE/RL II model. He started going off on how Kimber's break, and the SIS model is a failure and breaks all the time, etc etc. This is the ...

The thing about the FLGR is that it will save you from having to replace your recoil spring every 2000rds or so. The FLGR helps the spring not kink and compresses it like it suppose to. If you go to a GI guide rod the spring will kink and inturn you will have to replace the spring more often. You could buy a one piece FLGR to replace the 2 piece guide rod if you would like. I clean my 1911 after ...

hammer back safety on. Cocked and locked is what they call it. That is the preferred way by everyone I know to carry the 1911.
~Norinco
p.s. I have a CZ82 that is supposed to be carried cocked and locked but since I also carry my XD45C I lower the hammer on a live round for DA (1911 is SA only). The CZ82 is designed with a rebound hammer so the hammer has no chance of engaging the firing...

Grease anything that slides/moves/impacts on something else. I like Tetra gun grease. Not too thick, but still stays put.

I am incapable of leaving well enough alone
So I'm reading through the frequent answers section of the 1911 forum, great 20 something links to show you how to do almost everything.
Well in the trigger job section, figured good light reading I'd enjoy it. I learned about "boosting" a way to alleviate creep, put thumb on hammer push...
