I got to admit, I was laughing because it was a cadillac not a buick he was driving. So much for that endorsement.

His wife reportedly smashed out the rear window of the SUV with a golf club in order to "rescue" him?!?!?! Really, in a simple low speed accident? My money is on the fact she smashed the window out prior to the accident.

Could be a good day after all: Quote: SEATTLE, Wash. (CBS News) ―Police said early Monday morning that a suspect in the coffee-shop slayings of four officers was holed up at a Seattle house, wounded and possibly dead. Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said negotiators were still trying to communicate with Maurice Clemmons. Authorities had been seeking Clemmons in the deaths of four Lakewood police officers gunned down...

Unfortunately, we don't have field sergeants. All of our sergeants are assigned to investigative bureaus, and that's all we can do after we get promoted. It's a moot point however; it's been about 10 years since anyone has gotten promoted through the normal promotional process. __________________ The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section...

If you REALLY want to go Fed. Get on with ANY Agency that has "6c" coverage, that stops the age clock. then you will have breathing space to get where you want. If you can handle being in prison 8-10 hours a day check out the Bureau of Prisons, they're usually hiring. I may be wrong, but I think Border Patrol may have upped it's age to 40, how good is your Spanish?

1911 or XD for duty?
Published (2009-11-29 19:37:00)
Thanks for the input folks. I do shoot as much as possible, and not just the required times. I shoot not only during the reserve quals, but the deputy quals and any of the fun shoots. And I also shoot at home as well....Got to love livin in the country. So I will get a lot of practice dealing with the safety. That is nice drawing the XD and just shoot. So I have made up my mind. The XD stays in the duty holster. And I will look for a Mil Spec....

Well... Ive had several 1911's and a few XD's. Im now carrying the XD Tac in my sigline and Ive never been happier! It holds more rounds in the mag so I can carry 1 spare mag instead of 2-3 leaving space in my dual mag pouch for a multi tool (which I use ALOT!). The 1911's USUALLY have a shorter trigger, but once your trigger is worked over by a reputable shop ( Canyon Creek, Springer, etc...) its...

10 years ago the TEA was no fun for me. If however you enjoy the SAT you'll have a ball with the TEA. Go to Books A Million they should have a raft of study guides. IIRC Arco is one of the publishing companies. Who are you testing for?

If they're high profile and you think your job may be at stake, you notify a supervisor and let them handle it so if anything happens the liability is on them. As an officer you will still get sued, but you probably won't get suspended.

I was dispatched to conduct a welfare check on a male with severe depression issues. He had not been heard from for about 3 weeks, and the complainant was concerned he had "harmed himself". I made entry to the residence with two other deputies. We identified ourselves (loudly!) as we began to search the residence. We eventually made our way to a bedroom in the back of the house. ...

Before I start throwing recommendations out there...What size are you looking for?
Full D-Cell(ish) size or Full Time Belt Carry Size? I would assume by your interest in the Fenix lights that you are looking for a small belt sized light...am I correct in that assumption?

Duty Holster?
I currently carry my XDm as my duty weapon. I use bianchi accumold nylon belt and pouches. But I can't find a good duty holster for nothing. I currently am using a BH Serpa CQC mounted on a jacket slot duty holster deal... but I am very nervous carrying like that. I wish they made a level 3 serpa or atleast the level 2 ...

This is an interesting question many gun owners have talked about. As have military and law enforcement personnel.
Imo, I don't think any LEO's are going to openly admit on an online forum that they would disobey orders, or go to any extremes. As it would probably endanger their ability to stay employed.

Systema. Hands down. I spent 8 years in the Marines, took Judo, Tae Kwon Do, all the other McDojo stuff and only WISHED they would have taught Systema to us. I've been taking it for a few months now and it's probably one of the most adaptable martial arts out there. In other Martial arts when you face problems like edge weapons and multiple opponent's I used to ask my instructor's what to do. ...

Answer,
It's complicated, it is not the Academy that makes you certified to be a LEO. It is the State test to become state certified. In most case you can take a cross over academy and do like you said a month or two to be able to take their state cert test. It depends on the state and how PA criminal justice standards compare to the other state.
