It really depends on what you prefer. Glock does have more aftermarket support than XD...you can build a complete Glock--frame, slide, barrel, and all the small parts by using entirely aftermarket components. Las time I checked, this is not possible with an XD. The XD has a grip safety. If this is something you think you need, the Glock doesn't have it. Personally, I don't care for it. Loaded chamber indicator, visual striker...

New XD 9 SC

I carry the XD9SC with the flush 13 round mag in a XD Gear paddle holster. I LOVE it! It's small and light enough to be comfortable all day, 100% reliable, and damned accurate. Until I picked on up, I carried a Steyr S40, and loved it. The lack of accessories and holsters, plus the extra round count, made me put my beloved Steyr back in the safe.

I'm just messin' with you Bro... I had a similar situation a few years ago. We kept finding empty Bud bottles in our yard, some broke on the sidewalk. It was pi$$ing the wife off in a big way, and that is not pretty. Come to find out, we had renters across the street. Their under-aged kids were drinking with their school buddies. We called the cops on them once, and after that they thought it was cute to toss empties in our yard. We...

Unfortunately, this problem never seems to go away. Outside the waistband is probably more comfortable so may wear polo shirts slightly larger / longer than usual. Outside the waistband in a suit shouldn't be too problematic in a suit, this is assuming you wear a jacket.

I've painted several guns and rifles using Moly Resin or Duracoat. The Moly Resin is better since it is much more wear resistant duracoat is real good for the polymer but not as durable on the metal. For painting the polymer all you need is an airbrush, actone and pink duracoat. Duracoat frame. molyresin slide.

I thought about getting the ported model, then thought about the regular 4" service model. After a few months of reading and research, I decided on the 9mm XD(M). Since then I also have the XD SC in 9mm. Searching on ported V-10, looks to be some history of cracked slides, not sure it is still a problem or not. Also some mention of ammo sooting up the front sight. Here is an old XDTalk ...

Good luck to you with that man! As a fellow NYer I know what a PITA getting a CCW can be in some counties. I'm in Livingston and all I had to do as request CCW on the application for my pistol permit and after waiting nine weeks, I have it without restrictions, but then again my county is pretty rural and the judge gives unrestricted permits out pretty easily.Where are you located?

The sear holds the spring loaded firing pin back in the "cocked" positions. When you pull on the trigger it causes moves the firing pin safety block out of the way and pulls the sear down out of the way allowing the firing pin to drive forward and hit the primer.

I have a trigger kit on my XD9 service but I have dedicated the SC to staying completely stock, and I like it that way. However, the trigger kit makes a huge difference. Very enjoyable for competition shooting, and would be excellent for carry. I have both and love them both. It's a tough call. As you said, more and cheaper rounds... that's probably the 9's best selling quality of the two. I guess I'd have to say get the 9mm first and then do what I did and save for a few months and get the 40 also.

troll. So what if glocks have tons more accessories and can interchange mags and have spare parts everywhere! Their grip angle = fail XD's do not have all spare parts readily available. You can buy spring kits, trigger kits, striker replacements, barrels, etc. Magazines are not "really" interchangeable between calibers but you can use fullsize mags in a subcompact or compact ...

Live round stuck in chamber Hey everybody, first post here. I'll be picking up my first XD on Tuesday, but I've got a question after witnessing a malfunction at the range. I have a XD40sc that I carry daily, and love to shoot it at the range as well. I carry it in a Uncle Mikes iwb holster with no problems. I like it well enough that I'm trading my FNP-9 for a XD9sc.

XD 45 vs XD 9mm Subcompact I have a simple question for those of you who have shot or own both the .45 and the 9mm subcompact. I recently purchased a .45, and my fiancee has shot it some. We have agreed that she needs to get a gun in the near future to carry concealed. She likes my gun but the slide is too difficult for her to pull ...

Seems to me they're finally offering their XD line without the case's foam lining or their XDgear "Holster" and Mag Pouch. With any luck, that'll knock the price down, although I could see a marketing ploy as a "Limited Edition" model and knock it up a notch.

What I found made the biggest difference for carrying IWB was a good belt. After getting a 5.11 Operator Belt, I just stop having issues with my holster (an older model Comp-Tac kydex IWB). It's sturdy enough to hold my XD close to avoid printing and wriggling around as I move.
