Raven Concealment?
Published (2009-11-06 23:05:00)
I run one for my Glock, and my CZ 75 (although that rarely gets carried). I like them. They work well, are comfortable and conceal well. They're especially nice if you have a light on your gun. I run a double mag carrier as well for each gun. They'll make just about anything for you, too. Knife sheaths, cell phone holsters, spray holsters, lighter lanyards...everything and anything.

Broken Slide Release...Headed...
Published (2009-11-06 17:11:00)
I'd have to agree with Chile here. We come here to learn and help, if for some reason newer XDs are starting to show a trend of broken slide releases then we need to know this way, Springfield knows, that we the consumers a aware of this issue and expect to have it fixed. Why take personal offense at someone who is having mechanical issues with their new XD?

Questions on spare sub-compact mags
Published (2009-11-05 13:07:00)
Not new to XDs, but just bought a new XD-9 SC on Sunday and have a couple magazine related questions: 1. This seems obvious to me and will sound like a dumb question, but can I use my spare XD-9 Service mags in the SC? The extended mag that came with my SC looks exactly like my old mags, but with the grip cover at the bottom. I'm guessing the old mags will work fine, just showing the silver and base plate entending below the bottom of the...

Well the laws must be very different from state to state. We were taught to deflate the BG (meaning aim for the chest) and to keep shooting until they were no longer a threat. Now the question was raised " does that mean we shoot to kill"? And the answer was in so many words yes. The example given was this, there was an incident were a guy was in his bed sleep and was awakened by a noise he heard downstairs. This guy...

In the XDsc I find that the 40 has much more felt recoil than the 9. I am considerably faster back on target with the XDsc9mm. The 40 is a great gun as well, but I do find it has more felt recoil.

I had a similar issue with my XD9 service. ie. OEM setup seemed like it took forever for the trigger to break. Very difficult to anticipate when it would go. I purchased a Powder River easy fit trigger kit and reduced power trigger and sear springs. All for a little under $100. Put them in myself. OMG!! What a difference! I went from liking my gun to loving my gun. Accuracy went up 70% ...

well, makes sense in a way. i see your point. but when drawing the gun is being pulled in a direction opposite required to pull the trigger. right? so therefore i guess you dont need the grip saftey so much when drawing? idk, just trying to help you make sense of it. to me its just another added safety measure which helps my peace of mind.

According to what I've always heard most SD scenarios happen at 7-10 yards or less, so tight grouping at 25' is spot on.... ETA I would also practice some up close point-n-shoot type drills as well....

Good luck. I think there is a shop in new melle that can do them. There aren't many good gun smith's in st. louis. Top Gun, which is probably the best gun shop in St. Louis doesn't even have a guy who can put night sights on. If you cant find anybody, you can build a sight pusher out of stuff at home depot. Ill see if I can find the instructions.

Well I'll whack them. There so called safetys suck, this guy up at cabelas was trying to tell me how safe they were and how all these safety features were built into the trigger. If something like your finger or the seatbelt or whatever gets inside there and pulls or pushes that trigger back its going off period. Theres no way I would stick that thing down my pants on an IWB ...

My guns are always clean if they are going back on duty, but if not and I'm shooting again soon, I don't worry about it. And I always have a weapon on me at the range that isn't shot. But that is just me.
