Now you have a bunch of guys sitting at a computer who can speculate at best what is wrong with your rifle, we are much better because we aren't in it for the money . It's all business till they sell you something that doesn't work and they have a no return policy... it happened to me, fortunately I got my money back after I did some pretty heated talking. At the time I was a college student and all I could afford was a...

Range report on new Saiga AK
Published (2009-11-24 22:34:00)
Down here in SW Oregon, there is nothing in the woods that can really hurt you. How is it living in beautiful country BUT where one has to be REALLY careful of BIG critters? How cold was it? How cold can it get? My Saiga 7.62X51 (308 Win) has the short 16.3" barrel and while quite loud, seems to shoot better and better as it breaks in. Now at about 500 rds and about 2 1/2 to 3" at 100 yards. HB of CJ (old coot)

Mine was an OLD century purchased forever ago....and yeah, the FCG in it was definitely Craptastic...And yepperoo, replaced with a Tapco....Some of the Cheaper WASR's and others still do have some really noticable Slap....Again, super easy (it is an AK after all) to remedy if it bothers, personally the new stuff coming out isn't all that bad even on the new Io stuff but it is there...

Range report on new Saiga AK
Published (2009-11-24 21:25:00)
Hi I took my AK out today. I shot 8 5 shot groups with it off a sand bag at 50 yards. The average group size was 2.68 inches. The best group was 1.74 inches. I also shot my departments rifle qualification with this gun and I dropped 4 points. I am very happy with it. Its the best AK I have owned to date and I have owned about 6 from different manufactures. Here is some pics of my range trip with it today. Templar was right the two stage...

I had to purchase several magazines and test them all. Some worked, others did not.
How many magazines have you tried?

It's a gun, of course it's loud. Unless they have a posted rule about the noise, I would tell them to pound sand. What do you mean too loud? Tell them next time they start telling you what to do to your rifle, they should build their own. If they do ban it, go somewhere else.

That's a really good looking Saiga! I used the ACE internal block, too, and I agree that it's the only way to go. It's a much cleaner looking install and considerably reduces the overall length of the FSM. Good job!

Looks like you may have the same problem with your side receiver mounted scope rail/mount as I had with my Saiga 12 left side receiver scope mount rail. From the pic, it looks like the scope is going to be looking UP at the sky while the barrel is pointed DOWN at the unfortunate target.

you have to have the AK/SKS sight tool to adjust them. I think you are suppose to zero at 25 yards. Mines zeroed at 50 since my range doesnt have a 25 yard.

As always, it comes down to what you want to pay.
... but know this, an AK is an AK whether it's Russian, Romanian, Chinese or Bulgarian.
The differences that exist are mainly finish and how "smooth" it feels to the operator. But pretty much every AK will go "bang" every time you pull the trigger.
Romanian AKs (WASR, SAR, Romy "G" builds, et al.) are cheap and great guns ($350-450). Be ...

I agree - I picked up a couple recently from AIM and they were in outstanding condition. I like them so much I'm thinking about ordering more.
