I was wrong. Trying to print a longer document with MS Word. I had the same problem than described by the original poster. It prints two pages, and then stops. (Win7 x64 french / French M1005 drivers for Win7x64).

Aloha Vidya, Thank you so much for the wireless connection info. I did return the printer, and purchased another, in case it was a hardware malfunction. The 2nd printer installed and operated fine via usb cable, but gave me really poor quality slide scans. It appeared that there was a problem with the scanning lamp(s), so it ended up going back to the store too. Don't know if I will try for a third...

Solved! I used the specific vista x64 driver ( link ) instead of the universal printer driver. All print quality options are now availlable: 600, FastRes 1200 and ProRes 1200 (160+152 lpi). I don't understand why HP uses the universal printer driver as it simply isn't fit to use all features the hardware printer offers...

Hello, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately all of yours suggestions doesnt work... 1. I changed the driver from Windows Update from HP Deskjet 5600 HPA Series (Microsoft) to HP Deskjet 5600 HPA Series (HP) and vice versa - There is no change, everything works exacly the same. 2. When I check the option "Preserve layout" - printout is not scaled but... top of the page is cut (i. e. first line of document...

Hi Gary, and thanks for the links and suggestions. I kept trying opening ports, etc, but nothing seems to help with this issue. I still can't get on the ZoneAlarm forum; do you know if everyone is having this problem (with the forum)? Here's what I have done; I downloaded a trial version of Outpost Firewall Pro, and installed it here on my laptop. I have had it running for a few hours now, and the CPU usage on PML Driver HPZ12 is...

Yes it is a HP 5510 Deskjet all in one, Scanner, Printer Hi - Do you have more information on the printer model? Is it a Deskjet, or Officejet, or ?? That would help find out what level of support you will be able to get on your product, per the support page at http://h41112.www4.hp.com/promo/win7web/printer-support/us/en/deskjet.html

If your hardware supports it you should be able to run a virtual XP within Win7. You could install director on the virtual OS and then access the full solution from there.

You can try to uninstall the software again. After uninstallation: Restart the spooler service: Open commandline prompt ("Start"->"Run"->"cmd"); Run "net stop spooler" Run "net start spooler" Ensure the printer driver is deleted Open the printer folder ("Control Panel"->"Printers and Faxes") Delete the HP Officejet J4550 AiO printer, if any Right click your mouse, and choose ...

I can get it to print, but it will not scan. Anyone found a fix for this? I'm ready to lose it! If I can't figure it out within the next 2 hours, the printer is going to be tossed out in the street then run over! Seriously, I'm returning this POS and exchanging it for a Canon.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless A909g All-in-One using in a home office with local network. Great product. I just installed Windows7 and am loading device drivers. Any knowledge of how to download a driver for this product? My Windows network can see the printer IP address (gives me some hope), but it won't install on the network successfully. And I still need to download ...

I found this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board. id=Software&thread.id=4265 I found it “interesting” that Comodo firewall exhibits the same behavior with the PML Driver. There are quite a few other sites that echo similar results. Things I have since done to try to solve this: As per the HP setup manual, I have added various ports to Zone alarm; incoming...

I too am in this boat. I have a fairly expensive, fairly new HP Color LaserJet 3600n printer and for now it is unusable. It seems odd that HP can't spend a few minutes of software engineer's time on updating the Vista driver to work in Windows 7.

I also have the same problem along with not being able to use the HP gadget. It simply won't print anything you drag into it. I think it has to do with borderless printing also. Eric

I just finished installing the patch that Bob Headrick provided, using the abbreviated instructions that he gave me. The fix is simple (although Vista wants to make it harder...). All-in-all, his patch works! Thank you, Bob, and kudos for your rescue of some portion of the functionality of my OJ 7410xi. Now, I can, at least, continue to print when I have to. Now, if only an ...

The same problem occurs on Vista 32 as well. We put on SP2 on Vista 32 and then re-installed the latest HP Solutions package from September 09. A fresh Word 2007 document with 1 inch margins and 6.5 inches of text prints off center. The left margin is about 3/4 inch and the right margin is 1.25 approximately. No printer settings that I can find fix the error.

This seems to be a common issue with HP printers and Win 7. I have the HP OfficeJet Pro L7580 and I have the exact same problem. Hopefully HP addresses it soon. The printer works fine with the various XP machines in the house.
