You are welcome.  Just remember WEFI is just a workaround.  There is still something wrong with your wifi setup.  I recommend you download your wifi driver from www.hp.com.   At some point when you have an hour or so to spare, uninstall your wifi driver and completely delete the driver from your system.  Then load the driver you downloaded.  This might work.   Keep on keepin' on!

Please disregard that last response. I did a Google search and found it at www.wefi.com. It works! Thanks a lot for your help. I like the fact that the software gives you a list with icons that tell you whether a hotspot is protected or not, so you can see at a glance. Nice work, and thanks a million!

Hi, I'd be interested to hear whether this works for you too?:   I just had the blank page fault occur (managed to force it to happen by watching lots of movie clips, one after the other). While I had a blank page showing, I opened Bitdefender (BD),.... which was in Expert mode....   Went to ... Antivirus / Shield / Custom Level (which WAS in Default mode), ..... and UN-ticked the ''Scan Yahoo Messenger Traffic''....

my f500 lost the wireless (a known problem to them).  1/2 month out of warranty they told me to be understanding of their limitations and pay them 259.00 if i wanted it fixed.   the customer service was sooo bad, i could have strangled someone.    hp is not a company that stands behind its products.  BUYER BEWARE

Yeah everything's in proper order, from what I can see, suggestions are welcomed, and I even tried to 'roll back' to a previous version of the driver, and nope still doesn't work, is it possible that the wireless card or whatever physically got disconnected?

Try power cycling the modem and the hub.  ie. turn them off, unplug the power and the connections to the modem. wait 5 minutes. reconnect everything. turn on the modem and wait a few minutes for the lights to appeare normal. the power on the hub and wait a minute for it to come on. then reboot the computer and see what happens.   when you were on the trip, did you connect wireless or ...

Just noticed your post as I have the same machine and I'm about to do the W7 upgrade myself.  After doing some reading I've updates some of my device drivers under the Vista page with the expectation that they are W7 compatible since they pass the Microsoft W7 Upgrade Advisor test. I two wondered why more were not listed under the W7 section.  My problem has been that after updating the...

Hi lebanese_boy , Just wondering whether you had any joy in sorting the cause? I'm Googling for the same issue that also seems to have started a couple of weeks back (maybe a Windows Update??).   The problem happens on both my LAN connected desktop (XP), and for my WiFi connected laptop (Vista). I have Bitdefender 2010 on both. It seems to occur if I'm viewing media rich content (...

I had the same problem on my dv6810us.  Apparently, a Windows update changed the hardware configuration, or something similar.  I restored my system to a date previous to the Windows update and the wireless function started again.

I am having the same issues with my HP Pavilion a6720y.   I would connect, then within minutes it would disconnect.   I contacted HP and they wouldn't help me.  I contacted Microsoft and after 3 hours gave up with them.  They continued to tell me it was a router issue.   Anyway, I just went back with a factory restore and am currently back with Vista.  Hopefully they clear this up...

I have the same problem. I did what I was told (via support chat/email and online reading) and still nothing worked.   It first started with detecting my wireless router then after an hour or so it won't be able to detect it anymore until it completely tells me "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured". At first I though there was something ...

maybe you'll get lucky.   my wireless went out ( a known problem to hp)  they said my waranty expired in october. it's just november, and the computer was in the shop when it expired.  so they want 259.00 to fix a 300.00 laptop.  i'm going to either scrap this and buy from a reputable company, or get a usb wireless.   they told me i should be understanding with their limitations.
