Did you buy an e9290f or did HP exchange your system for one? My case manager offered to exchange my e9180f through the store I bought it at, but I've seen a lot of negative reviews on the Best Buy USA site reporting the same...

Hello oddweb, I, just 30 minutes ago, got yet another phone call from HP. This makes close to ten now, and all with the same results. I have 85 emails from HP and others, concerning this issue, and HP responds with nothing. Please don't take this as an attack on you personally, as it certaintly is not. Just a little of my experience, no more, no less. I have an interest in four small companies that have close to two hundred...

The rest seem fine and we have never had a problem. I don't think I need to say that sending all of the machines back would be a great loss in sales for HP near the tune of $70,000.00. The persons whom I spoke to at first didn't seem to care much...

A question for Sandar2020 and/or Ken-HP, Can you explain why the 5.24 BIOS isn’t available for download yet? If the older boards aren’t defective, shouldn't they be able to run the new BIOS?

I think something needs to be clerified, Between the distinction between OEM and Retail... OEM is not preprietary that is where you may be confused hpsad. I apologize for getting upset before. Your tone and statement were inflamatory. I think this is where you are having a problem. So called OEM and Retail computer products are availible both availible via retail outlets where a prepriatery item is not. ATX form factor motherboards are...

Hi, I took at look to see if there was new firmware available. Unfortunately, I have not seen any (BIOS) firmware updates available from NVIDIA for the 220GT. That is what it will take as there appears to be a hardware issue with the card. Perhaps you gents just happened to get faulty video cards. It happens. regards, erico

Correction, it's only fixed on the 1.04E01 motherboards and not the earlier revisions. Revision 1.04A05 motherboards will still freeze with the 5.22 BIOS, I know, I have one! My case manager is currently trying to get my computer exchanged for the e9280 or e9290 with the revised motherboard. +1 There are starting to be more and more successful comments in the 9280 thread for those with mobo 1.04E01 and bios 5.24. Hope this holds....

I bought a E9150t with 8Gb , 1Tb HDD , 1Gb ATI HD4650 card and TV tuner card around the same time as you. I had been having lockups and freezes since the days I received my PC. I spent 10 days updating all the drivers and reading forums to find a solution but nothing helped. Finally I called HP support and they were just blindly trying to make me do some regular stuff which they always ...

And here is the error which Windows 7 shows upon re-boot. Come on HP! All I did was to use your 'free' Upgrade CD to Win 7. My computer with Vista ran just fine for many months. What operating sytem are you running? Vista or Windows 7? Try taking out your battery and use your system using the power brick. If it works fine, you might need a new battery.

I too am waiting to hear the initial reports on 9280 / 9290 - but it may be a while before some reviews show up., as these are both new models and have been out just about a week or so now. The thing to watch out for is the Mobo brand and type - if its the same as was used in the previous series (and is riddled with problems) or has been replaced with a different one - fingers ...

Good question. I'm in the exact same boat. I almost bought one of these systems a few months ago, and found this forum while researching. Been following the discussion every since and I'm amazed that a more official statement hasnt been put out - detailing the problem and fix - rather than replying on 3rd hand info from fellow customers. HP should be leading the charge on ...

Hi, Is there video when you try to use the recovery discs? I am referring to the HP splash screen. Can you access the BIOS with an F10 key or HP Recovery manager with the F11 key during startup? Clear CMOS to see if that resolves the issue. If that does not help then contact Customer Support and let them know about the problem you are experiencing. It is good to know that ...

Are you running Windows 7 or Windows Vista? Do you have any devices plugged into the system that did not come with the system? Unplug them and use the system as is for a few days, then slowly plug in devices 1 by 1 and see when it starts freezing.

Exact same problem on my new 6210f. Everytime I try to do a backup to my USB External Drive, it freezes, does a blue screen, reboots.
