The more you pay the longer it lasts??!! I ponied up $1300.00 for one of these piles. How much more was expected to pay before I got a good one? Sheesh.... When I opened it up to reflow the board practically every component has a "made In China" sticker on it. I probably had eleven year old kid soldering my circuit board. "Ah, a little lead neever hurt anyone" So Hp farms everything out to China to...

I just read " 1 in 3 laptops die in first three years " So your new laptop computer died in inside of a year. "I'll never buy a computer from [insert manufacturer name here] again!" I've heard the protests time and time again. Yeah, maybe you got a lemon, but no matter which brand you bought, you truly are not alone in this situation: An analysis of 30,000 new laptops from SquareTrade, which...

Alright here it goes.. Cooked my moderboard in the oven today and after following instructions i put it in my laptop and after an hour screwing and back and forward.. the LAPTOP works. so the whole problem with the graphic issue with the laptops with the Go 7600 GPU is that the GPU gets to hot and after a while it will loosen from the socket, so the only way to get the graphics to work again is to heat up the moderboard to exact temperature...

Did you try to roll back the driver. This way if it is the driver preventing it from starting it should eliminate that. In safe mode right click your computer and go to manage. In the left pane click on device manager. Expand display adapters in the right pane and double click your video card. Under the driver tab click on the rollback driver option and follow prompts if asked. Reboot normally. I hope this can help you.

If you pressed some keyboard keys and there is a response in your monitor, you may have a loose connection somewhere. Probably the ribbon cables or a lot more serious is GPU or chipset BGA connections. If you have EE skills you can reflow the motherboard. If not, better bring it to repair shops.

I don't know if this helps any of us but there IS a class action lawsuit against HP for this very thing!!! Here is the website. At least it is a start to finding out what to do about ours. Maybe we can join this suit and make them honor their faulty product! Hope I don't get deleted like some of the posts recently! I think HP is fully aware of this. I have my opinions as to why ...

Same boat as you. I have totally switched my entire family (5 laptops) plus countless friends and coworkers to HP over the last few years, but am now having second thoughts due to lack of common sense and good customer service.

Those of us with the dv9500/9600 are having the same issue. HP offered to sell me an extended waranty for 1 year. To be honest, knowing the problems with this particular chip set (NVIDIA), I will be happy to get another year. Sound sad, but true. And, with all of these issues coming up, I do believe that, once the appropriate people get the information, maybe they will give us a ...

your new motherboard is defective according to the description you give. The video memory in the video card is bad. The graphics driver allows you to access that memory. When you are running in regular vga mode you are using regular system memory, and only a very small amount of it. You are in regular vga mode when it is just the BIOS screen, up until the operating system loads. One ...

Uptill now, there is now good news from HP. The only solution is to reflow your GPU, the solder connection cracked due to bad solder material and fluxtuation of heat. You'll find a guide to reflow it in this forum, use proper airgun and thermal measurement. Replacing the motherboard would end up this the same condition a year after that.

Guten tag, Christofow! I think I may be able to resolve your issue by hot linking you to a new driver download for the integrated web cam. I need some more advice from you. Which operating system are you running? (Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7) And what configuration is your processor? (64 bit or 32 bit.) I think is not possible because you must change the motherboard. On motherboard is the graphic card. You should by a new model with a good graphic card...but I suggest you to don't buy HP...buy something else... They are not so PROFFESIONAL!!!!!!! Look on this forum and you will see.
