Your s3620f (NVIDIA chipset) requires this KB976972 USB driver update. Install it first, reboot, and then re-enable your USB wireless LAN. Let us know if it works.

DR, you can only install 1GB total. This would be 2 x 512MB. There is simply no way to have the motherboard utilize 2GB. Here is the memory at Crucial. Read all of the information on the pages.

open IE without add-ons, then click on tools > manage add-ons > right click on the column header and select Colums > Folder ( to view the installation folder of the specific add-on)Now, find your Addon in the list and select it. Double click on it to display its properties and make a note of its installation folder. This is where software usually places an uninstall.exe file (the name may have numbers before the .exe...

OK. After reloading the recovery cds 3x and now the 4th time at the direction of HP "support" I am waiting for a call back from "2nd level" support. Each time I call I have to go thru the same routine. The last person talked to stated if the long SMART test failed they would send shipping box for me to return the PC for repair. Is there some way I can talk to an HP support manager? I'm getting the...

I am not sure that the type of the motherboard is important. I think it is important that you remove all HP Assistant related files before you try to install again with administrator rights according to the my step by step installation procedure. Good night. I am going to sleep.

alanst500: Thanks for your post. Here is a modified form of your suggestion that worked for me: Press Start and type in "msconfig" in the Search window. Press Enter Click on "Services" tab and find HP Health Check Service. Uncheck this. Click Apply. Click OK. Restart computer to finish changes. With this, I can launch and work with HP Support Assistant. The "Gathering information"...

Further to my post yesterday, I found the same problem came out around noon today. I go uninstalled the google toolbar completely ( I had disabled all concerning google toolbar yesterday), restarted the system, it worked fine for few hours, same problem came out once again, then worked good again till now, about 5~6 hours (may not have continuous operation, but PC keep switching on). I think there should be still something else in conflict...

There should only be 1 set of those bluish icons. I would try running a System Recovery if u can from the F11 menu function when the pc boots up. This should recover the pc back to day 1 and delete everything like new. I would much rather suggest doing this then stressing with msconfig because there's no seperate software or utility HP provides just to fix that or reinstall it....

See if there is newer software from Vodaphone's website. Have you tried it on Windows 7 to see if it works? (if you do, try to install it a second time if it crashes the first time)

I would put only 1 memory stick in the system and run the diagnotics. If it passes, remove it and plug in the second stick and rerun diagnositcs. If it fails, get a new module or clean the tabs with an eraser and blow out your motherboard freeing it up of dust bunnies (don't use the compressed air can) What is your system model?

Windows Live Mail is the e-mail program included in the Windows 7 operating system image. Outlook Express was the free e-mail available in Windows XP but is not available in Windows 7 or Vista. Your computer may have a 30-60 day subscription to Microsoft Office which includes Outlook for e-mail. At the end of the trial period, Outlook will stop working and you will need to use a ...

Not sure if it comes from Microsoft or your system manufacturer Try going into Start Control Panel Programs and Features. There should be 1 item on the left hand side called "Turn windows featuers on / or off". Go in there and maybe there's an item that removes the pre-installed games or offers. *shrug*

The motherboard on SR1913WM only Supports SATA 1.5 Gb/s. But the 500GB Western Digital hard drive is 3 Gb/s. That might be the problem due to which you are experiencing problems using the drive eventhough it is correctly recognized in BIOS. I would suggest you try updating the BIOS and then try using this hard drive. BIOS update link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/...

Guys, sorry for the misdirection. I was simply rolling up my sleeves to see what was there. I was going off the terms supplied at the beginning of this thread and antoher. This is a community volunteer effort, I was simply trying to help, and wireless is not my forte. Thank you very much for posting the real fix and driver. I will make note of it and suggest it to others in this ...

Charles, while I have tried IE8, which seems to work fine on my computer, I still use Firefox 3.5. I have been using it for many years without any problems. I suggest uninstalling IE8 through the Control Panel and installing IE7 or continue using FF. Also, I have been using Google Chrome on a test basis. It seems to be a very good browser, also. I have had no problems with it, ...

Elchucko, if it weren't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all! The problem as I see it is, you are dealing with one OS (Vista) that was never what it should have been and one that may, but isn't yet, a reliable OS (Win7). This is not a good combination. It simply is a recipe for problems. I guess depending on if you are the one dealing with it or not, a disaster. The ...

There is a *solution* in reverting back to your original configuration in Vista via recovery and wait to upgrade when HP has made the updated drivers available. I know this is not the message you want to hear, but the updates to MediaSmart have not been released yet. On the side... has anyone tried deleting the files in c:\hp\temp\ and installing sp44404 in Safe Mode? The file that ...

In looking over the info for the model number provided, if your computer has two DVD or CD drives, try the other drive for this. It appears only one of the drives can actually write to media. This assuming the configuration found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam e=c01817977&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en &cc=us&product=4003107〈=en Otherwise, it might ...

It's by design. Windows 7 does not enumerate the drive letters until media is inserted to avoid an error message that pops up if you accidentally click on it. This is the same with the optical drives in Win 7.
