Checkered Banana Seat Covers
Published (2009-12-29 21:44:12)
I would try a little carb cleaner or laquer thinner on a rag, and see how it does, don't soak it heavy or you may make a big mess. The vinyl may get a little sticky so stay close to the painted part. If not Gary Wald has a Persons on ebay.

When Did Huffy use a Decal for...
Published (2009-12-27 05:36:47)
I OWN a '63 Huffy cruiser with (what was anyway) a decal headbadge. Being covered for 25+ years in oil must have eaten it and the seat tube decal as well. There is however, some remains. I can't find ANY decal badges anywhere, but rivit and screw ones are plentiful. I thought I was the only one who had a decal badge 60s Huffy. Keep me posted, this info is helpful.

Yeah, I was wondering who ended up with this Ebay auction bike. I was bidding on it at the time but dropped out. Looks like a very original survivor. Congrats! Steve S.

If I knew those were made back in the late 70s I would have bought a couple and kept them in the box but back then all I did was work and then party after work and hardly ever went in a store unless it was a liquor store, those are real neat and would like to have one but oh well.

I think its factory, doesnt appear to have been sprayed or anything like that. If you want it i can let it go for $30.00 / shipped (O.B.O.) shipping is going to be about $10-$12.00 alone. It does have a slit on the top, very small one. DT

OK Ron. I think you and Mark are right. I'll stick with the snake. I'll include it with my list of decals I need to buy, I'll be sending to you in the next few days. I have a couple of other bikes to assemble and clean up. Bikes that you guys have not seen. I'll post photos later.

Could be, but I always thought they got it from exhaust side pipes. Those cut outs look very similar.

Thanks, Steve I always wanted a early lime bike, but also wanted the long frame from 1965, the 3 speed is just a bonus. I am
still looking for a few things, but once I spoke up an s-2 it will be moving along faster. I plan to use the green good year grass hopper tires front and rear.
I traded White Trash a 20 x 1.75 for his 20 x 1 3/4" so I could use them both.

A crappy pair of .50 cent gloves is what I got. That's it. Same as last year, and the year before. No joke. Same .50 cent item three years in a row.
Oh, and on Christmas Eve, my bro locked up the tranny on my dirtbike jacking it around after being told to get off it. Now it won't even start.
Hope everyone else has had a better season this year.

Many of you know by now that the Huffy Penguin was the first FACTORY High Rise bicycle. I plan to get up close and personal
with this bike here.

I am pretty sure we recorded the X71 code.
I bet this had the snake logo. I had a guard that said qualifier 5 & 20 like your once and it looked like the snake
outline. Its on my dragoon now though.

I had my girlfriend look at a few photos and asked her to pick out one that actually looked like me. She picked these two.
I guess she'd know cuz she sees me more than I do.....
Now the tricky picture to get here will be Mark Wilson. That guy lives in a bomb-proof bunker underground in Virginia somewhere, with nothing more than
cases of army rations, a super computer and 1647 musclebikes...

I will, I hope to gather info and parts, and start on it after Christmas.
I ordered 2 sprockets, the older bikes had a small 36 tooth sprocket, and it appears later they used a larger one.

Looks great, white is sometimes a color we do not think of on these old bikes. rarely see it though. It is like black High
Rise bikes, they just don;t come along too often .
