i was able to remove the board without getting tasered, so that part is solved. I dont see any issues that are readily apparent. I would just reseat all of the
vertical deflection components...if i knew which ones that was.

What's the model number of your TV?
Do you have the "static" convergence? The 9 points?
If so, you have to go inside your TV and press the "
little blue
button" to reset it.

Sometimes this can be a stuck relay, or perhaps a stuck switch on the front of the TV. See - Things to check:

50UX26B stuck in Static Mode.
I am having a look at a friend's Hitachi 50UX26B with a convergance problem.
I think they must have pressed the Magic Focus button for too long and now
the convergance is stuck in static mode. The TV is only used to play video games and they don't have a remote. Is there another way to get the convergance ...

I would hope so. That was almost 2 years ago and the OP hasn't been to this site since a few days later. Did you check out the links I provided in post 4?
