TECH TIPS for 600/700/800...

QUOTE(racerdoug @ Nov 24 2009, 09:45 PM) Hi Bontz, How's it going? - Cold Sieze isn't the only thing to watch out for when removing the t-stat. The CFI calibration has an enrichment mode that's set at a bit over 100F. If your coolant temp drops in this range the fuel system will go back into an enrichment mode. This will most certainly create poor runability, poor fuel mileage, gummed exhaust valves, fuel...

QUOTE(Tjmcc @ Nov 24 2009, 06:44 AM) this is probably going to sound like a stupid question but I'm pretty new to the whole sledding business and I want to get to know this stuff best I can. My question is what is involved in this? 1) Check your belt to primary sheave side clearance, should be .010" to .015" w/NEW belt, mine was .070" from the factory I just need a few words of wisdom to point...

QUOTE(Bontz @ Nov 24 2009, 03:05 PM) It was something for us 2009 Dragon 800 owners last season. A lot of us were seeing the sled run with higher than normal temps. Although the temps weren't considered bad (for example, 160F+), the engine would lose power pretty quick due to those temperatures. By removing your thermostat you're allowing the coolant to stay cooler and therefore the engine runs better. It's...

It is going to be interesting to see if removing the t'stat is still required to obtain lower temps in most conditions. The new head has some improvements to how the coolant flows through it, and that might change some of the high temp readings. Time will tell. Neil

You must have hollowed out the bottom of your seat to hide that blue bottle! No one would look there HA HA! Very good info in your post kudos to you. For the guys that think their sleds are spot on because they are new(far from it in most cases) ,this information will come in handy when they get spanked by same model sled that someone took the time to check and tweek these things. Freddie is a pretty busy guy. The last time that I talked to him he was pretty swamped with school, opening a business, and Diamond Shocks. Freddie is the furthest thing from a scammer that I have ever done business with. He will get back to you eventually.

QUOTE(Mandic @ Oct 30 2009, 11:38 PM) Trying to figure out what the rear track shock length is on the IQ chassis. After looking at how beat the one I have is from rubbing on the track and the abuse of the previous owner, I need a new one. So need to hunt for the right size one. And I don't just trust the Ebay ads that say "IQ Chassis". Will a rear IQR shock fit as the rear track...

$100 for the rear axle parts??? You got ripped off. I just bought the rear axle parts with the 2 added wheels, spacers for my front suspension, the missing coupler blocks to add to my rear suspension, and one or two other things for like $108 after tax. I have my receipt around here somewhere. Yea on my receipt the rear axle kit was $49.99 and I think my dealer ripped me off for it....

I haven't really seen any prices around here for them but it seems pretty good to me. Your talking a 10K sled so 30% off seems very good. Lot's of good tuning tip's in the race section. I rode next to one up at the hill last year and this guy went past us through the whops like nothing. Seems like a sick mogul sled. Good luck with it.
