I am not sure exactly what the engagement is or what the shift point is on the Triple 600 but my 01 SX500R has been on radar at 95mph. I have seen some of the triple 600s going right about 100 and some really good ones, maybe cheating during radar runs, going into the 104-106 or so range. It should be pulling harder and harder from 0-80 mph and then starting to fall off slightly after that until it runs itself out of gear and power. Hope you...

QUOTE(bradleydicks @ Dec 14 2009, 10:14 PM) buddy has 2000 srx, lost spark but has or had a pulse in the head light when pulling the rope. not sure where to start troubling shooting? I was thinking about this and remeber the tech who replaced my headlight relay telling me that the relay cuts all power to the headlight until the engine is running, and if the headlight pulses when you are trying to start the engine then the...

then you need to replace the three bolts with new ones, as they wear out on the tips. also, while the clutch is off and apart, remove the wear plate, smooth the rough surfaces from the bolt indentations, and turn it over so you are now working with a new surface and bolts. wear parts are called wear parts for a reason. cant believe your dealer didnt pick up on this. same secondary from 95-current, same shims, same bolts, same wear plate. your...

Try starting the sled with the headlight in the high beam position. There is a TSB out for the headlight relay but it's not a recall, Yamaha will replace only the effected models. The replay robs the starting power and there will be no or intermittent spark. Mine did this to me and it drove me crazy trying to find it, I gave up and called a dealer, the mechanic told me about the high beam...

I don't have any pictures but I had to put them on my SX500R. You can buy from nearly any Yamaha dealers. They are basically just a U channel piece of plastic. They are roughly 1inch tall and around 3.5 feet long. Just need to take the seat and probably the tank off and mark where the windows on your track line up with the tunnel. Then drill some holes in the tunnel and the protectors ...
