And I have 19k+ with one 5870.. There's a problem for sure. I have ~6 fps more than you on the first test, and ~6 fps less on the 2nd test. Reformat is needed for sure !

Reinstalled windows and after further communication with Sapphire I've provided them with a link to a freely downloadable video that reproduce the results every time for me with just a fresh Windows 7 x64 Professional + updates + Catalyst 9.11 install. That's to say, just using WMP 12 and no additional players or codecs.

Well the article on Anandt while informative does not seem to effect my 5970. GPU 1 and 2 5970 GPU 3 285GTX Max temp on core with extreme burning mode was 80.5 C Max temp on Vram was 99C extreme burning mode can do upto 120 before it effects anything. Now this is my card and how it runs on extreme burning mode. My advice turn up fan speed and for anygamer this will not be an issue. Heres the screen shots. link to higher quality screen

Are you using any kind of user-created profile?
I have a similar issue with my 4870, it gets stuck at the BIOS default clocks of 750/900MHz, regardless of my actual settings, whenever I play a video that gets GPU-supported decoding.
Your problem seems somewhat different though but I know well the stuck clocks issue.

These drivers support H264 acceleration with the new Flash 10.1 pre-release , but when playing Youtube 720P - or any other HD Flash content - the video is heavily pixellated. Turning off hardware acceleration in Flash fixes it.
Anyone else willing to test the new version of Flash and confirm this issue?

I don't think it's just a Sapphire issue. I've seen the same thing happen with my Powercolor 4870. After playing a video in WMP or Media Center the clocks seem to be stuck in UVD mode. My temps are 4-5 degrees higher than normal idle.
This issue also causes problems with Aero under Windows 7. There's a "flicker" effect on Aero windows on my second monitor when this...

Only with 9.11?
Is 9.10 or earlier fine? If it was fine on 9.10 are you certain it didn't use software decoding?
Does it play fine if you enable software decoding under 9.11 and let it use that?
The reason I'm asking is that I've only seen this happening with forced hardware decoding of the kind of videos UVD doesn't seem to like.
