Sounds like an Urban Legend to me, and I'm considered a Glock hater. lol

There has been a lot of controversy about Blazer aluminum cased ammo. I have seen 357 mag ammo cut through the topstrap of properly adjusted revolvers. I have also seen it wear grooves in the breachface of glock autos. Presumably aluminun oxides are formed when firing the stuff getting behind the cases as they are extracted. Glock nor Blount Holdingds will admitt nothing.

I've got a Glock and SA Sub-compact 9mm and hands down I like the SA much better. The look, feel, trigger pull, grips, ease of take-down, like it all over the Glock. I'll probably look hard at the XDM next, in 45 ACP. It's all a matter of choice, what a country!

IC,
My semi-auto experiences, with these two manufactures, is practical with Springfields and academic with Glocks.
I've got a XD45 ACP and have found it to be a very good pistol, in all the ways Springfield promotes it to be in their marketing. While employed at Sportsman's Warehouse, I saw the huge popularity rise in these pistols...it was hard to keep adequate stocks on hand. The folks ...

What does Springfield say? I don't know about their XDs, but they don't recommend it on 1911 with less than 5" barrel. It has to do with slide speed, timing, reliability, etc.

wait till you have put a few hundred rounds and see if that helps. right now the spring is putting a lot of pressure backwards and after a few hundred rounds its easyer to rack and which should make it easyer to push the lock down.
personally i say give it about 300 rounds
